Yep. To be fair, I bought grand touring tires not performance tires for round 2 since most of my miles are commuting.

If you want to restormod one go buy an old high milage beater with a baffed out engine. Chopping up a nice low milage collector car to rod it is sacrilege.

Really wish I hadn't gone down that rabbit hole after realizing I missed an opportunity to buy this:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1985-toyota-mr2-6/

That is the twin sister of my original MR2.

This is the first one I've seen, though. They don't sell. And broken ones have already been fixed. It wouldn't get restomodded for at least another 10 years, at least.

EDIT: Doesn't matter. I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. Auction ended at $8600, reserve not met.

Ya, you're right. With that much play all of a sudden, most likely something MAJOR is wrong ..

Like the cable has slipped off its holder on the set of shoes on one side.

@spike021 , no problem UNLESS the loose shoes break loose and bind up against the drum .. in that case it would lock up that one wheel .. and I don't think the ESC would save you ..

I'll check back with you .. after ma nap .. to see if you are still around.

Not to worry, I was jest ah messen wich ya ..

I remember, back-in-the-day, when we would do our own brake work (with drum brakes). The brake shoes were made out of asbestos and when the shoes wore down, all that asbestos was in the form of dust in and around the drums, which we blew off with an air hose (NOW, we all know what an inhalation hazard asbestos is).

Then, we would clean up the shoes and drums with an aerosol can of brake cleaner - which was LATER shown to be a carcinogen.

NOW, you know why @Tcoat , @Ultramaroon , @Sapphireho and yours truly, sometimes ain't quite right in the head -

Birthday week, and my wife has my dance card a little too full for my liking, but all good.

Having a BBQ at Mom's next weekend and 3 of my 4 kids will be there, so should be fun.
