Late season on old engines and a largely full throttle track layout...
I expect a few DNF's due to engine problems.

Who wants to bet Bottas has an engine failure and George wins the race... With Valtteri's luck, it seems more likely than I care to admit.

I think both Bottas and Hamilton should worry if Russell does real good.

Lewis has no signed contract yet and May have a hard time justifying full price for his skills if some young kid can do just as well for lots less...

Both Norris & Leclerc are backing George for Pole & possibly a podium at the least, that speaks highly of this talent that will get released this weekend.

This tread has not seen this much traffic in quite a while, between the BBQ we had last weekend and musical chairs happening with the drivers we can agree that 2020 has been different and unpredictable.

Yeah I know. I just thought it was funny. I wish they would give an FP breakdown so we know how many sets of tires they went through. It would at least give some slight idea on what practice program they are running.

MB must have some loyalty for Ham after he handed them an historic season for manufacturer titles.

Plus you know Ham is so close to the few remaining records out there (from his "I'm gutted" comment) that he'd like to cement his legacy as Sir Ham next year in an essentially unchanged spec that Merc dominates.

Yes, other than front row lockouts and 1st place finishers, the 2020 season exceeds expectations so far and with George in the mix, wow.

Isn't there some talk of driver salary caps next year? Not that it would matter to the A-list, they'd make it through appearance and endorsement incentives, but just maybe it would open the door to new talent as a few big earners head for greener series.

My remark was purely in jest if you missed the little guy snickerin..

MB owe a LOT to LH

Is the rumor of Sir Lewis wanting to retire from F1 possibly a reason he is waiting to sign?

Got my supply of racing food and refreshments ready for the weekend. I may need to go out & restock if Quali gets entertaining.

Regardless of pace goals... it is pretty telling how good the mercedes car is (and/or just how bad the williams is) when a driver with zero experience in the car can suddenly top the charts.

I am really looking forward to qualifying!

If I were Ham's manager, I'd tell him to say the same thing entering contract negotiations but really, he can name any number and they'll match it.

Exciting weekend in store, I'm planning everything else around the practice, quali, and race times.

They sometimes post the number of tires used here:

But only when the LIVE SESSION is active.( Live leaderboard tab)

I thought I had seen it before

Timing on FP2 only shows 13 cars have set laps. Wtf going on. Top time is Ocon and is slower then Russel’s FP1 time.
