Drivers window grabbing window seal and pushing it up.

Wondering if any of you have had this and fixed it yourself.
"Drivers window grabbing window seal and pushing it up."
I'm no longer in warranty and the guy at the dealer has never hear of the issue, nor is he really any help aside from wanting to charge me $ for service I can do myself. So far I haven't had any leaks but on the rare occasion the window doesn't go all the way up, which I have to push the window button to get it to go up the rest of the way.

All I really need is a list of parts I need to replace. Ideally I'd like a DIY forum post with pictures but beggars can't be choosers.

Thanks

Well, now, @stockysnail , no, I haven't had that problem.

But, if I did, the first thing I would do is check the weather stripping at the top to see if it was deformed (compare it to the other side). If so, I would re-position the deformed part to where it should be and put a hair dryer to it, then let it cool ..... to see if it would behave.

Then, I would apply some silicone to the weather stripping around the window (including the groove).

Next, use some alcohol to clean the edges of the glass on the window.

That might do it .......

I would try what Hum suggests first but if you do want to replace the parts all the part numbers are on page 55 of the attached.

The weather strip is in the correct position. It's getting a little worn in the spot where the window is grabbing it. I'll try cleaning it really well to see if that helps at all.I'll see if I can get decent pictures to post that actually shows something.

@humfrz & @Tcoat I added some pictures to the first post. Cleaning the window and weather strip didn't help.

Oh that is nasty! Should have been warranty for sure but too late now. I think replacement is certainly in order.

Happened to my car, got the weather strip replaced under warranty, and I'm starting to see signs of it again... It's just a stupid design flaw.

I ended up just using 303 Aerospace Protectant on the seals and it wipe off the excess; it works well enough.

Yep, I agree ...... @stockysnail that is beyond "fixing" with a blow dryer or slicking up with silicone.

Weather stripping should be replaced.

Then, I suggest, you slick it up, to minimize the chance of it happening again.

There's a TSB that includes reprogramming the window logic to cut the indexing in about half. It makes a huge difference. Your window might also be adjusted too tightly against the seal. I've spent a shit ton of time with my door cards off carefully adjusting mine.

I only work until Wednesday. We should get together over the holidays.
