Big paint chip, is touch up paint sufficient enough?

Hey guys, I got a pretty deep chip on the car recently and I was wondering if touch up paint would be sufficient enough to cover the chip. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1421679218.719668.jpg

What do you mean? It will definitely be noticeable from the same distance you took the photo from, but from 5-10 feet it won't look bad. Unless you really want to pay to get the whole panel repainted or that portion paint matched, touch up paint is your best bet.

Touch up will work but like Lucid said you will notice it because you know it is there. Other people however probably never will even see it.

Pretty nasty one, how did it happen?

Thanks for the advice guys, Im just worried about that area rusting. I wouldn't mind it being noticable. Im from Canada so winter is pretty nasty, and I drive on the highway often. Im guessing a stone or salt pieces chipped it while I was driving. I wish the paint was more durable

professional touch up application... you won't be able to tell. Red I think is a single stage paint, and certainly looks single stage or single + clear?

sand area w/ fiberglass pen, glob pain on there, let dry, wet sand, buff and polish.

By the looks of that chip you took a hit that would have chipped a tank much less a car! Don't think paint quality had anything to do with it.

Won't rust as long as you get it sealed up well.
