Megan Racing Exhaust Intall and Review!!

Well recently I purchased the new Megan Racing Drift Spec exhaust. I ordered the exhaust through e-autosports here on he forum. They had amazing customer service and were quick to get back to me on any and all of my questions. And i recieved it in just four days, super fast shipping!!!! Anyone that wants amazing customer service should really hit these guys up www.e-autosports.com P.S. They beat everyone on price!!!!

Well i recieved it today so of course i went ahead and slapped that bad boy on. Let me first of say that this is the best sounding exhaust i have heard on a FR-S yet!!!!!!!!!!!!! You get nothing but that boxer engine rumble that is just pure sex. There is no rasp or rattle or spits or sputters. Hands down i am in love with this exhaust tone. Also the car has a little more pep in its step! If i slam this thing into second it will spin the tires pretty good now, before i would just get a little chirp.

On to the the downside of this exhaust.....
Well i did a lot of looking and never really found any information on this exhaust but i wanted to give it a shot. So i guess i see myself as somewhat of a guinea pig. The first downside was that the Megan Racing exhaust came with new bolts to use to bolt up to the cat, well the bolts were to big i would have to drill out the catalytic converter side to get them to fit. So i ended up using the old bolts. Not to big of a deal but why not have them fit, I mean come on!!!

Now the most concerning thing to me..... The exhaust clearance!!! My car is only lowered just a hair, and there is almost no clearance. It hangs a whopping 2.5 inches above the ground!!!!!! If i had coilovers on my car i would be dragging through this exhaust. I did send a email to MeganRacing and i am looking forward to see what they have to say about the issue. Hoping they have a good answer/solution for me cause i cant see anyone wanting this exhaust if it hangs down that low.

Well on to the pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are a few shots of the install process!!

A few before and afters!!

Shot of clearance issue!!!

Update!!!!!

Good news!! I heard from MeganRacing today!!! I was very pleased with how fast they got back to me on the issue. They were polite and sincere!
Bad news they say this is NORMAL...... I can not see why anyone would design an exhaust to hang so low! I can not imagine backing down a steep driveway or lord help me if i slammed my car on coilovers. This exhaust is a hazard to itself and to the car! So my final thoughts on this exhaust...... The sound is absolutely amazing, but i DO NOT recommend that anyone purchases this exhaust until/if they ever do anything about this clearance issue. I would hate to see someone buy this exhaust and harm their car, and it would only be a matter of time till the exhaust was smashed up and flattened therefore killing the flow!!!!

That clearance is unacceptable. It shouldn't hang that low. Just a matter of time before you mess it up by impact damage. Look at the YouTube video. . That one seems to fit better

I agree 100%!! Mine doesn't fit anything like that one, I'm just hoping MeganRacing agrees. I'm really hoping I hear from them tomorrow!

That sucks. Could pay a local muffler shop to cut the weld at the flange and rotate it for you so its not that low.

Why don't you really test their customer service and return it? With the pipe hanging that low you'll be replacing it in due time.

That is my exact plan!!! Already went and talked to the muffler shop and everything. I am also going to drop the back of the canister down so that it has a little more of an upward angle to it. Just wish i didn't have to put more money into an exhaust i have already paid for!

I have never been a fan of megan racing product. Although everything they have is significantly cheaper than similar alternatives but you get what you pay for. Hope everything sorts out!
