86 Meet this weekend JHB?

Hi Guys

Its been a while since the 86 JHB crew attended any events.

This weekend would be cool if the 86 guys went out to play.

As a matter of collating the activity for this weekend in JHB, please see the options below:

Saturday 30 August 2014:

1. TTCC KAR Dyno Event - Not sure if this is happening as no advertising or communication has gone out from the committee. I emailed events@twincamclub.co.za and got no response....Anyone heard anything?

2. Nitro Crew 11th Birthday Bash (Show and shine) - Cnr Witkoppen and Riverbend Northriding, Gauteng

3. Planet Car show - 47 van Riebeck Ave, Edenvale

4. Super Series - Zwartkops Raceway (www.zwartkops.co.za)

5. WestRand Car show - Andries Pretoria Street, Roodepoort, Gauteng

Sunday 31 August 2014:

1. SOCSA Skidpan Day - Zwartkops Raceway ( www.socsa.org.za)

2. Ferdies Swop Meet - Midrand

3. BMW CarClub Gauteng Concours - Monte Casino

I would personally suggest TTCC event (If they are having it) and the SOCSA Skidpan Day at Zwartkops.

You can log onto the website listed above and reg for the event, we are after all, apart of the Subaru Family (Given that almost everypart of our car has the Subaru brand stamped on it)

Let me know if anyone else has suggestions...

Hi guys,

The TTCC Dyno day is happening and there is an 86 class (for the na cars. The SC and turbo fall into the 4cyl forced induction class)

Was looking at the 2013 SOCSA Skidpan event, very cool and challenging set up on their Gymkana's:

Looks like fun

I've just worked out why I used to enjoy gymkhanas 40 years ago and why I battle with them today.
How the hell is someone my age supposed to remember courses like that?

Hahahaha! I dont think anyone would find those courses easy.

Would be cool if those Andriod Apps could guide you through it, similar to what @GeeTee86 used at the Zwartkops track day this year

While people around the world, are spending/wasting millions of Litres of water pouring it on themselves while they stand in their boxers in their back yard doing the epic... once in a generation... "Bucket Challenge"

An unconventional group of us decided to embrace the cold...splash in the water....in our boxers. (D4-S boxers that is ) FTW! and GoPLAY.

Each to their own.
(No offence to Bucket challenge participants. You are cool as well...in your own back yard boxer way).
I just prefer Gymkana challenges

Saturday 30 August 2014:

Attended the TTCC Dyno Day at KAR performance, with the cold front hitting JHB, it was a chilled out event....Not a huge turn up, but was good hanging out with the TTCC crew. (Will post pics). Not sure if it got busy, I left around 11am

There were only 2 86's when I left, did any other show up? And results?

Sunday 31 August 2014:

Attened the SOCSA Skidpan event @Zwartkops, really awesome enviroment, with some Subaru heads that take GYMKANA's damn serious.

With 65 participants, ranging from beautiful Impreza STi's , STi's , STi's and some others like RS4's/ S6's / S3's / BMW's / ST's / Honda Jazz(Turbo) / and 3 86's....Myself, @Freedom and @Vic_RSA

Respect to Vic for smashing some quick times, and Freedom for the best show with the 86! Handbrake turns and drifting like an expert!!

As a Noob that I am, Vic showed me how to put traction control OFF. (Which I did not know how to do, Ie. Holding down your traction control for 10sec's.....I used to just press it and wondered why it came back on after your first wheel spin).

And OH MY GOOD...LOOK AT THAT ASS (SLIDE). Nikki Minaj Remix. lol:pa rty0030:
Looking forward to many more Skidpan Gymkana events!
Also heard about the epic time that the others had at the Midvaal race way in the past week (Please post some pics or some video's)

Will post some pics of the other events for the old folks sitting at home, thinking about Kw, Dyno conditions, who's software is better.....etc etc....time to come out to PLAY and see if you can school the noobs...

Till the next meet
