Thats way to much crap "centralized" on the tablet screen.......

And you pay 150k for your door pulls to not work half the time lol.

But i guess to get that O face during acceleration its worth it to some.....

I wouldn't mind driving one at some point, but I would never want to own one.

How long before the government steps in to regulate acceleration on EVs?

When a Mustang accelerates from a cars and coffee, you hear it and know to run the other way.

Same thing if people are speeding down a city street. You hear engines and gain awareness that this missile is coming at you. Sure, the Tesla will attempt to brake for you, but it is 5,000 pounds and going 120 so it doesn't matter how fast the car can respond. The car's fake speaker noise won't be enough either as it can't generate enough sound loud enough.

But yea, I agree that the headlines will be coming soon. 16 year old takes Dad's Plaid out and mows down an entire school bus of kids because literally nobody heard it coming.

That is a terrifying thought
At least with ICE Mustangs you could hear it coming from 10 miles away

Yeah, that's my biggest dislike with Teslas, putting everything on a giant rectangular screen in the middle of the dash. I know its meant to look cutting edge etc, but I think it takes one of the worst automotive interior trends in decades - iPad like infotainment screens slapped onto the dash with no attempt to integrate them into the flow of the design - and multiplies it by x1000. Just terrible. I reckon we'll look back at interiors like this in 20 years, when screens are organically and seamlessly worked into the flow of the interior again, and think 'What they hell were they thinking?'

Tesla quality. It's not up to German or Japanese quality. But...

It's hard to argue with the performance. It is crazy.

What I find interesting is why it is taking so damn long to release this kind of EV performance in a smaller, lighter and still affordable sports coupe. Sure, there is the crazy EV hypercars like the Rimac Nevera that are even more insane, but where the heck is the new Tesla Roadster? Where are the other EV coupes? That kind of acceleration in a car half the size and with an even lower centre of gravity would be amazing.

The funny thing i find about the whole electrify everything and every function trend.......is that they still provide the analog failsafes.

It just makes me wonder....why not just keep using the analog as the regular option and go try to electrify something else that would actually benefit from it?

Its even more ridiculous if they "hide" the analog part in the exact same place as the electronic part.

LIke the 2022 Lexus NX for example....it has electronic door latches like every luxury make is moving towards...and where they have a button on the door handle to open it electronically, they also have a failsafe latch RIGHT UNDERNEATH the handle hidden as part of the handle.

If you want to get a real sense of the speed focus on the rear window. It give you a sense of how quickly things disappear.

The look on his face about the same that MomHawk had when I punched the Mach E we test drove, even though it wasn't nearly as fast. The speed, plus the lack of noise, can be shocking.

Yea, it is item 1 on my "Why I won't buy a Tesla" list. If you want to see it done right, look at the dash of the new Escalade and the upcoming Lyriq.

From the Lyriq....

The Lucid interior and interface is interesting, along with how they use sound inside the car to notify you of what's going on outside of the car.

Do you need to make sure you have a clear runway ahead in order to punch it? Why is the traction not an issue at all, I hear no tire squeal?

People that need that rush should save their money and insurance and go to amusement parks.

Can you say "Alexa, get the hell out of my car, I don't want you here?"

33:50 when he has to "do it again" he passes a school bus on the other side of the street, and it doesn't look like there's a median.

Very safe. /s

Doug DeMuro is usually alright but is it REALLY safe to be testing out that max speed stuff on a (albeit busy) street that is clearly frequented by buses and could have kids around?

From the Lyriq....

Ive noticed alot of these new electric cars coming out are using the EXACT same dash layout....

bigass widescreen tablet spanning the driver side to the center stack, and sticking straight up.

god the future of cars is gonna suck.
