Here are my runs, they were good enough for second place. The guy who beat me was miles ahead, but he won't be able to stay ahead of me for long.
Here are Curtis' runs too, he forgot to record his fastest run though (he didn't remember how to record with my new camera). |

I can only find them occasionally. Really they only make you go slower, so I hate using them.

A great time was had by all despite the crazy hot temps.
Here's my best run. 59.5 still in CS. I can't wait to play in STX! |

Track Night in America at MSR Cresson was tons of fun, we ran CW (backwards). There were only 4 of us in the advanced group (3 for the first session), so lots of wide open track for everyone. I managed a 1:28.6 in the third session, improving on my personal best by 1.5s.
I also instructed/rode along in a 1999 Porsche 911 and a new Cayman S. I only managed to record my 2nd session, the first session recorded for a minute and a half before shutting off for no reason, and I tried to record the third session with the camera plugged into the USB port to charge but that didn't work. I don't think that port charges, and I'm not sure the camera will record when plugged in; however, it wouldn't have mattered because I didn't secure the suction cup correctly and it fell off after 3-4laps. Powers (shneegle) paid to add a couple of cones to my winning run, so he ended up "beating" me in my own car. My videos don't show any cones; however, there is one possible cone (they called 2 on me) in the beginning of the slalom. There was a bump there and it made a sound every time I went over it, so it is hard to tell if the sound is cone related (I'm skeptical).
My runs: David's (@) runs: I'll have to wait to see the footage from David's camera to see if there are any real cones. |

The first slalom cone could have been the other one (hard to tell because I heard sounds on the clean runs there too). I just prefer when they call the cones during the heat. Would it have made a difference on my last run if I knew I was behind, instead of believing I had a lead; probably not but maybe. We both know that we are separated by the slimmest of margins (and that adds a bit of excitement to each event). My tongue and cheek complaints betray my genuine drive (lol, pun) for victory. If it we didn't want to win and/or hate losing, we'd still be as slow as the Porsche club guys (high five for us once again raw timing every Porsche). |

Another strong showing by the Texas Region 86's today with 2nd place finishes in X class, STX, and CSP; a 3rd place trophy in STX; and respectable finishes by all other 86 competitors.
Here are my runs: And here are Curtis' (my co-driver) A little bit of a role reversal meant that Shneegle coned his fastest allowing me to sneak by. With competition as fierce as it is, any opening can result in a loss. |

As Sam has said he got by me due to a dirty run on my part. Still got 3rd so it wasn't that bad. I was driving @G-Man's car as mine needs new front pads and rotors. Points for the season are looking bad for either Sam or I to win STX for the year. Didn't have the GoPro set up for my first run and Ryan forgot to turn it on for his first 2 runs.

Yes it was a great event for the 86's! Great job done by all!
This Saturday I'll be heading to Lincoln for the largest SCCA Solo National Championship ever. 1300+ competitors with 85 in my class CS. I hope I represent the North Texas 86's well! |

We might finally be through the worst of summer, temperatures were much more tolerable for today's ER autox. Shneegle abandoned STX to try out a turbo car with his Hoosiers. Miles co-drove with me and ,as instructed, tagged one of the last cones on his fastest run to allow me to eek out the victory. Co-driving was taking on the tires, but David and Peter had a much harder time with their slicks, extra turbo power, and multiple re-runs.
The course was fun, fast, and tricky enough to leave you wanting to get a few more runs. We finished early, so we probably could have had 1-2 more per person and still ended on time (the double drivers would all have had tire temp problems though with the super short intervals). Here are my runs, 5th run was the fastest and put me first in STX and 12th in overall pax: Miles only recorded his first two with my camera (he has all his runs on his own camera), he took second in STX and 15th in overall pax (his coned run was almost half a second faster than my best and 2 thousandths faster than Davids best). Here are his first two runs: |
