This thread is just full of liars and even bigger liars. I am currently 18 and in college. I work 30 or so hours a week, and I can't afford to pay for my car. I don't have a minimum wage job, and i get paid well.

The only expense I have is my car because I live with my parents. Therefore every paycheck goes to it.

I got the car with dad when i finally got my license at 16 and a half I put a down payment of 5k (my life savings) also paying the car myself, insurance is a pain in the rear end but the rear end of the car is worth it It's a beauty.

I also live with my parents so car is all I have also. Most of the people saved a lot before buying the car. I bet you could afford a 267$ a month payment. That's what I pay because I put more than half down on it

Man there are some young people here with these cars. I bought mine just after I turned 23, put $10k down after selling my BMW. But I also bought my own home with 20% down when I was 22, so I am not doing too bad.

Some people in these threads....Parents want their kids to be safe and be happy. If I was a parent, I'd feel more comfortable with my kid driving an FR-S than an older camaro or mustang. Also affluence doesn't equal arrogance, there's no reason to assume that a younger guy or girl driving a newer car is an arrogant bastard...

Well said! I don't understand why people are getting mad at us young FR-S BRZ owners

good on you.

I see people wondering about your insurance rates here. Prob a tad high but not bad since it is just a 4cyl.

at 18 I had a v8 and the insurance was 400 mo. and thats when minimum wage was around 5 bucks!

Up here in Canada, I found a Corvette was a good chunk cheaper to insure than my BRZ or even my BMW 135i.

Currently I'm at about 1800 a year, nothing too crazy. No tickets, one single car accident (fell asleep at the wheel, went off the road). I guess the extra money has gone to fixing all my tickets so that my insurance doesn't go up lol.

I am 16 and i have a 2014 Whiteout FR-S, thanks to my parents, but just because i have a new car i hate when people call me spoiled. I would love to help pay for it but my dad won't let me get a job. I am on top of my grades and I want to be an engineer. Thats the only reason I got it. Also my friend got a new 2013 Camaro when he turned 16 and he is also on top of his grades and one of the smartest kids in school. Just because a youngster is driving a new car doesn't mean he/she is a spoiled brat.
