IIRC correctly it was specifically mentioned in the Japanese comparison thread that the rear subframe was less tight to the body to encourage toe-out under compression. The toe arms are mounted to the subframe so letting the subframe rotate around the Z axis could provide a similar effect without having to make different toe arm assemblies for the Toyota. I’m so curious to see the front suspension of those cars they had. |

In the Throttle House video it seems that good tires would make up the difference on the track considering a 1G had a better time. The camera man has an FRS and ran a "low 1:15" compared to the 1:15.90 of the 2G. I would have liked to see them do a drag race between the two. |

really comparing apples to oranges.
i would like to see lap times from pobst in showroom spec (factory tires) on a real race track. i'm not a fan of trying to equalize the cars with the same tire spec. |

Toyota is quoting 6.1 seconds for this new one. Magazines should be able to get that down to the mid 5’s or better with a similarly aggressive launch. Jason Camissa has already said he’s done an “easy” 5.6 seconds with the new one.

Fair, the geometry doesn’t technically change, it’s the thrust axis. It can provide a similar corner entry effect though, provoking the car to step out. Quote:
Follow up: I did a quick scrub on YouTube and managed to find a shot where the top of the front knuckle peeks above the brake disc. It was confirmed further in the thread these are aluminum. Brz knuckle for reference: Last edited by Yoshoobaroo; 08-19-2021 at 02:06 PM. |

I think that what the journalists said was the upgrade was pretty clear. They drove them back to back (the TRD updated version too). |

Almost nobody does time trials on stock tires, and only "spec" classes designed to be beginner friendly run 215s. Why should results of performance tests depend on what comes from the factory? What if I buy a car in winter and it comes on winter tires? |

On our cars, the tires only really matter for the first few feet of a drag race. In the TH video, the 2nd gen was clearly pulling away more and more as the speed increased.

but i still prefer to see lap times with 0 modifications/straight in showroom spec. the data is too messy when you start modifying the car. |
