Did we get the BHP spec already?

Can anyone remember if the BHP was confirmed or not what with all the rumours and misinformation?

I just read confirmation it was 200BHP and couldn't remember actually having this confirmed before. Im sure it probably was, but as I say what with everything swirling round I probably just forgot.

Nope, it's all speculation.

200 is just a more likely number, 2zz already makes around 180, Latest EJ204 over by the other side of the pond with AVCS makes 190.

Personally I hope for 220, lol I will keep dreaming before the offical spec is released.

"Let us introduce a new generation of sports car. A font engine, rear wheel drive concept that combines a lightweight coupe body with a 200bhp flat-four boxer engine"

*Admittedly this is discussing the concept.

I'm much more interested in the torque. Anyone know how much torque it makes and what rpm?

Damn, I was really hoping for 150+ since the k20a already makes 140 and it is 10 years old with no DI.

I wouldnt say Honda is better at making performance engines. Look at that torque, it looks like shit. 142 lb ft @ 7500 rpms?. That is fucking garbage of a engine. Maybe if that engine was strapped to 1800 lbs of curb weight I would respect it.

I don't think it's a matter of being better as such, it's a matter of what they release to the market. But yes, in terms of engine tech and know how, Honda > Subaru any day of the week.

The K20A is a beast of an engine, and very easy to get more power out of it. Toyota is essentially stuck with the FB, but I'm sure they'll do a great job with Yamaha getting it up to scratch.

K20A can get get 250whp N/A with just bolt ons, and it makes a flatttt torque curve. I swapped a k20a2 into my EP3 hatchback.

This is at the wheels.

Our current Aussie Type R's K20 makes 148kW of power at 7800 rpm, and 193Nm of torque at 5600 rpm. Not bad at all for NA power!
