First encounter with a ricer?

Oh boy.. so today on my way home from work about 6:30 PM I exit my usual highway exit, just thinking of watching Marco Polo on Netflix, I stopped at the next red light and some fat guy wearing giant sunglasses with a beard on the passenger side of a HONDA, pulls up and said out loud while looking at me,"omfgsh what a terrible spoiler (putting up his hands palms out)." I have a *nur spec spoiler on fyi* and I turned around word getting into my head already, was about to tell him, oh sorry I don't see you in a better car, oh wait you drive a Honda so stop acting like a ricer.. but I didn't even though it would of been satisfying, but I knew better, not worth the trouble. Idk why spoilers are ricer? STI has a huge spoiler, Evos have huge spoiler, but it's not purely for looks it's a on a rwd not like I drive a fwd and have a giant spoiler in the back for no reason.., just can't believe a guy in a freaking Honda act like I was the ricer...

What'd you guys think? Any run in with these kind of people, let's share our first/other ricer encounter 😁

Personally, I think better grammar would be helpful.

On a scale of Fast to Furious, how large and ricer-like is your wing? Is your FRS boosted? Otherwise I side with the Honda.

Well, that IS a pretty healthy wing ......

We don't get many "ricers" over here in Puyallup ...... The Bubbas and Billy Bobs keep them thinned out, by running them off the road ..... with their giant pickup trucks ...... just for giggles.

I knew a guy that bought a Honda back in 1970 and he would have been the first "rice burner" I knew. Not sure when the term "ricer" developed to mean just certain styles of Japanese cars instead of all of them though so guess my first "ricer" encounter would have been someplace in the early 90s.

To clear a misconception, the rear spoiler on this Honda is not rice, despite the car being FWD:

It's there for function, not looks. Same for the spoilers/aero you see on any BTCC, time attack, [insert race series] car. A lot of race car chassis, FWD or not, are setup loose enough that they can utilize more high speed stability. You don't need RWD to make use of a rear spoiler.

On the street, I question whether anyone really needs aftermarket aero/downforce. By the time it makes a meaningful difference, you're cornering at speeds well above what you should be.

If I saw a car pull up next to me with that silly nurd spec wing on it, I'd laugh too.

So.. you'd laugh at all cars with the same wing with 1000hp or just ordinary 200? Time attack car or not? Very unbiased of you, respect lol
