Different Open Flash Tunes

Hi, I haven’t been on in a long time (2018) and I still have my car (2013) with open flash tune (not sure which version) since 2014. I want to upgrade the tune, can anyone tell me what the advantages might be now? My car is still basically stock except for a K&N filter. Thanks.

If everything is running fine why not just leave well enough alone?

I tried the V4 and the V2 and preferred the throttle response of the V2.

Yet you can refine v4 via custom tune and its way better than clunky v2. I know by 1st hand because I driven v2 UEL 93oct, v4 stg2+ then custom tune. Knight and day belive me, my regret was "why I did not did it before?"

Yeah, great point. I don't doubt the obvious benefits of going custom vs OTS.

But for OP I was just trying to point out a basic difference between the two tunes. Letting him know that in this case/context, upgrading/flashing to a newer tune might not be an obvious "upgrade."

I’ve searched this website a little bit, and my memory is a bit vague, but wasn’t there a page that breaks down the differences in tune versions? Is it worth it to go to V4 oft? I know you say it was clunky, and the throttle response not as good - was that a learning issue for the ecu? I know Even with my tune when I disconnect the battery I have to do the throttle pedal relearn procedure.

V4 have better overall powerband and provide smoothness and v2 it feels like V-tec kicking yo after 4k rpms flatten out the torque curve, specially UEL header +93 oct tune

No, it was not related to throttle relearn. I used the 5 slow presses/depresses trick to skip/finish the throttle relearn after flashing.

I also drove on it for weeks afterwards. I just didn't personally like how the V4 felt, despite it being "smoother" - guess it was just too smooth for me.
