Brake rotor wear after 3 track days

After 3 track day with Hawk DTC 60, the front rotors look like this. The rotor surface is smooth
Should I replace them immediately?

Yeah Germany, the country with the 1/3 death rate in traffic, compared to USA.

Indeed, you would not be allowed to run a car here with such discs (last 2 pictures).


But hey, its just about braking... Nothing important


Edit: But anyway: I'm a cautious person and would replace the replace the cracked one (i guess, they are the front discs).

And i dont want to argue with people, who may know better.

At the end, its your life you may play with. At least your car...
If you crash and have nothing else to worry about than the car, the insurance will try to find a reason not to pay. Discs with cracks (or exploded discs) look like a good reason to me.


I would not want to check the discs after/before every trip, but its my OPPINION.

The discs have 'crazing', hairline surface cracks caused by excessive heat. Its pretty normal from brakes which are used hard, its usually superficial and is definitely not considered dangerous.

Your hysteria is not welcome, especially as you do not completely understand what it is you are advising against.

Btw. I googled before i posted, i found several warnings, but i'm definivly not as deep into this, than others.
E.g. i found this is considered as "will break under load".

Does that mean the pad is too aggressive for the rotor? Or/and the rotor exceeded operating temperature?

If I upgrade to a better performance rotor, will the rotor have heat checking again from track use?

1 possibly 2 did the rotors change color or warp? 3 Maybe (checking? I presume you mean the surface cracking/crazing)
what brake fluid, did they fade? Might change my answer to 1 maybe 2 but not 3

I use Castrol SRF racing brake fluid and Stoptech SS lines. Brake fluid is still light yellow after 3 track days.

I didn’t experience any brake fade / soft pedal feel at the track.

Are you using any of the nannies, traction/ stability control? They use the brakes to control wheel speed and create a lot of excessive heat on the brake system.

You should try cryo treated rotors for your next set. I heard after they sit in -300F freezers they can last up to 3x longer.

I use Track mode.
It could be from rt660 tires. I go full speed at the track; I really “drive” the car.

Track mode still has some but minimal intervention. Long pressing the trac off button turns everything off
