Exclamation Opinion on kit and idea

Okay guys, so i have news. I am going to be getting the car in about three months, and i need help quick. I figured that i am going to get these wheels.
https://www.carid.com/ns-series-whee...452173474.html

and these spacers

https://hardcoreparts.com/automotive...3-fr-s-6537803

Do you all think that would be wide enough for this kit?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/32411197712...Cclp%3A2334524

Before you all start roasting me about it being from ebay, my friend bought that kit, and he drifted in to a sand block thing and it held up very well. so, all in all do you guys think it will look good? the car is white, and im thinking of keeping the kit black
here is the car im looking at.

If you are 3 months out and the car might sell between now and then what is the rush?

From what I can tell those are available in a 17x7.5" +38. You don't want that big a spacer for those wheels. I'd probably go +10mm at most which requires a slip on spacer, which requires ARP extended wheel studs.

You have to click on ore product options, there is an option for 18x8 with 40 mill offset i think, and plus i dont think it would sell its been there for a year and a half, im more worried about having to drive manual on the way back.

That wheel is even wider, you will probably want max 10mm on that wheel as well.

15-20mm slip on might be okay with enough camber. Which would require some form of cher adjustment. 15mm aren't ideal as the wheel stud can hit the back of the wheel.

What do you mean by the wheel stud? im new to the car scene in a sense ig, like when you say the wheel stud whouldnt it have to be hitting the back of the wheel? and what if i just didnt use spacers? would that look fine? like have the 18x8 wheels with no spacers? or have like an ince spacer? it all depends ig? can you like pm me about it?

You do not need wheel spacers. They can be used to dial in wheel fitment or to add clearance for bigger brakes when needed.

I wouldn't a spacer until you research and can make an informative decision on your own.

As far as your question about the wheel studs. Thin bolt on spacer will leave the wheel stud poking out which can contact the back of the wheel. The factory wheels have pockets that can accomodate this but most wheels do not.

Edit I just realized you were looking at a widebody. The link wasn't working for me intially.

Wait until you have the car and can take measurements with the kit tacked on. No sense in wasting money when you don't know what you need.

There is an old carpenters adage that one might paraphrase:
Measure twice, cut once.
Or, in this case:
Measure twice, purchase once.

Perhaps it would be wise to wait until the car has been secured so the kit can be applied and then measured before trying to determine correct wheel offset.

Also, if you are new to driving a manual transmission (and this platform in particular) perhaps it would be wise to learn how the car handles and performs before undertaking any major "mods". Just sayin'.

I somehow didn't see the link to the widebody kit.

Wait until you get the car and the kit before you order anything. If you are set on the wheels you'll need to take measurements with the kit tacked on and the wheels installed.

Putting a widebody on an otherwise stock car wont help either.
Either do it right or try to do it cheap.
Personally I'd just get a lip kit.

1st off, look for a 14+ so you don't have to worry about the valve spring recall.
The car in the ad is definitely dropped and at the 9K price I'd be worried wtf is wrong with it.

The kit OP is looking at is a V1 RB knockoff.
You would need wheels in this size and offset for it to be "flush"
Specific offset for a 86 rocketbunny v1
Front: 18x9.5 ET 3
Rear: 18x11 ET -6

So yeah, those wheels you are looking at aren't going to cut it.
The kinds of wheels you need to buy for proper fitment with this kit are not cheap.

You are also going to be spending upwards of 5k to get the kit installed right.
Unless of course you know how to do body work, weld, and paint.
I hope your ok with doing irreversible damage to the body.
And if you do not tell your insurance about the mods made, they will not pay you for them in the event of an accident.

The car will also handle like dog shit.
These kits are for people with 500+ HP or hard parking posers.

Did I read just right that the car you're looking at has 219,000 MILES. Geez man, I mean it looks clean and well taken care of. But depending your plans with the vehicle, you may or may not be able to enjoy it for long. I suggest your really look into the service history of that car.

This ^ All of it.
Putting spacers on to push an 8.5 inch wheel out to be "flush" will look as getto as hell.
Drive the car as it is and save up the money to do things right.

Okay, so basicly get the kit on first and then experiment with wheels?
