Stereo sound fading in and out *Problem*

I have noticed that at seemingly random occasions the volume just drops from what listening volume to less than half of what it was, sometimes barely audible.
I cant seem to force it to do it either, i thought maybe wires were loose and when i take a corner sharply it would happen, but not the case.
Driving along, Nek Minnet... quite radio

maybe this is just a GT thing, but i will let the service center know and see if they have any clue.

Is it the base stereo? not the Nav unit?

I know some units out there have the functionality to raise or lower the volume depending on speed of the car (gets louder the faster the car goes to compensate for the road noise)

Do you have Digital/HD radio on your head unit? I find that the digital and analog broadcasts often are at a slightly different volume. When I lose reception on the digital signal, it will revert to the analog, with the accompanying change in volume. Not sure if this is what is occurring in your case.

I have found something like this with the GTS where it would be like a low pass filter over the sound - something to do with the nav lady I think. Easy fix to turn off the audio and back on after a few secs... I have yet to investigate in more detail - not much more than a minor niggle atm

Its happened through Radio and USB (ipod) not sure if it runs digital radio or not.
It doesn't really bother me too much, as i prefer no music, but the wife noticed it and she doesn't like it.
like you said, a minor niggle
