I prefer the already included road noise cancellation unit. The radio.... Although road noise can be it own warning system.

ebgs500e: How much quieter is the BRZ during acceleration?

The steady state improvement you note during highway driving is impressive. However, I don't find the BRZ to be objectionably loud in this area of operation - though I wish it was quieter.

Where I find the BRZ too loud is during acceleration - even from just off idle though mid revs, at moderate rates during normal driving - I hear too much dB - lots of mechanical noise - coming through the body into the interior.

Do your modifications quiet the car down during acceleration - and if so - to what degree?

Thanks; this has been a valuable post for me.

The funny thing is that I like the way the car sounds under acceleration. After doing the sound proofing i can hear more of the engine and exhaust since overall noise is down. The overall volume is lower, but the car sounds are more distinct.

ebgs500e, your interior volumes are still lower, surely?

I doubt the engine sounds could be louder with the soundproofing installed, but rather seem to be higher in the "mix" (proportion) compared to the amount of road noise that has been removed.

Is this what you're saying?

Thanks for new info. I appreciate, if anything drove me away from a car, it gotta be the road noise!
