I'm retired now, but after 43 years in IT, I've worked with more people than I care to mention that couldn't find their ass with both hands. I'd love to tell you it'll get better but in my case it never really did, as there's always that one person. The good news is my coping skills did get better.

We've got a little bit of wildfire smoke here in the last 2 days... but already shaping up to be a brutal summer. Campfires banned earlier than they ever have been, but we already have one of the largest fires in history burning out of control since May.

Was up at my summer property a few weeks ago and could not believe how dry the ground and forest was already. We normally have near freezing temps at night that time of year, but we had 30C+ days and 16C+ nights.

Allergies combined with hazy air makes my sinuses feel wonderful!

It's a blessing to have extended family so close.

And yeah, "Mom! Get inside the house! Jeez!"

Yeah apparently it's still early in wildfire season...great!

We're in a pretty solid drought here right now. It's been a weird spring. Allergies have been destroying people. Ticks have been out of control too. Pretty much done with hiking til the winter. Good times.

Sorry to hear that above from some of you. Spring this year in NC has been absolutely amazing. The coolest weather from March - June that I've ever experienced in over 20 years of living here. Given that I view any weather above 85°F as pure misery, it's been heaven for me. Record low energy bills, windows open all the time, and can do yard work or wrench in the garage without looking like I fell into a body of water.

Tip top!

I can't help but wonder how many people they pull that stunt on... particularly people who couldn't pull their car apart in their sleep.
most people. cars are officially mystical mysterious machinations.

just walk through any parking lot, and look at tire wear. if you can find 3 cars with normal tire wear anymore, it's odd.

It's been pretty cool here too. I just assumed it was smoke blocking the sun. Would be nice to have that patio I was promised by mid-May, even if it smells a bit like pine.

For me it was just the expectation I'd say "yeah order up whatever you need" over the phone without even attempting to explain what parts required servicing

If my s/o ever agreed to something like that (since she insists only the dealer can change her oil) I'd call her a turkey.

They view vehicles as appliances

My boss brought his mom's car to work a couple weeks ago, starter was on it's way out and she took it to a shop. They quoted 600 minimum + the starter to change it. She was going to pay it too We changed it in the parking lot at work in about an hour with hand tools.
