Opening trailer up after 2 weeks of rain. Side of the road is just pure mud at this point. The good news is that not only did I not get stuck (many, many did) I never even spun a tire. Bad news was that the sound of the mud slinging off and hitting the wheel wells while going down the road was horrifying. As you can see though the mud flaps and stone guards did their job and nothing hit the sides of the car.

Well there were at least two pickup trucks that managed to bury themselves to the axle so ya I was happy.

Garage
Early on (back in the days) there was a picture here of a zenki with a 6" wooden spike (splinter) jammed through one of the stone guards.
Couldn't find it anymore.

Yes it protects sensitive electronics and instruments from water so you don’t have to tape a speedometer over your damaged ones.

Then why is it called a windshield? Should be a watershield.

That would be part of the whole “multiple uses” theme now wouldn’t it.
Takes a special kind of person to get water into their electronics anyway though.
