That seems old, but median isn’t the average/mean, so there could be a bimodal distribution or a skewed distribution with a concentration in the mid to late seventies and early eighties and distributed down to the 20’s sparsely.

All this demographic stats on age, but there is probably some info the marketing people are looking at. One way to look at the motivation for buying a particular vehicle is in three broad categories. I need a car, I want a car and I need a car, but it has to be something I want. Our Ascent fits the first category; it does what it does well, but it is like the refrigerator or the washing machine. The BRZ is just a want. OK, one could say I NEED the car to keep my sanity, but that's rationalization. I see the average age for the Twins is skewed to younger demographics. I was in that boat when I was younger where I could only afford one car at a time, so it had to be a car I needed (transportation) and the car I wanted (English sports car). If you have multiple cars in the family, how does each car influence what the other one(s) are? One friend has a pickup truck, so his other car is an Alfa Romeo. I call him Mullet car man: Business in front, party out back.

I did go to Subaru to buy a car to drive to work once WFH was over. Intention was an Outback. BRZ was in the showroom and I'm at a point in my life where I was like, yeah I like the look of this, why not. I love the car but with 3 kids we now basically only rely on the Tacoma to go places together so that's been an adjustment. Worth it for now.

I (we) were 56 when we picked up the BRZ in March. The Goldwing took off to roadtrip with a younger couple so the BRZ is 100% our fun toy replacement. Wife enjoys time in the drivers seat as well and has taken it to work to make her younger "work husbands" jealous.

I traded in my GR86 2 days before my 50th birthday. I need a road vehicle to haul clients now, and I don’t currently have extra room for the GR or I would have just kept it.

I enjoy cars a lot more with age because if I destroy something I can just replace it. Don’t worry about dings, rims, etc anymore. It makes it a lot more enjoyable, for me anyway.

I am buying a boat this winter and will be looking for local storage. If I can find a big enough place, I’ll order another GR Premium. They’re great cars. For the money it’s amazing.

I hear that. It took me about a year to get around to getting this little dent fixed -

If you like the car buy the car. Age has nothing to do with it.

Happy almost 40th birthday -

Congratulations on your new car purchase -

Just in time, because when you reach 80, it gets harder to get into and out of -
