Aftermarket Passenger Seat to Enhance Leg Room for Wife and small daughter?

I should have started here and not the Reddit GR86 group (bunch of whiny Honda-Civic-Forum-bitches up in there, but I digress). Our 4 year old daughter loves to ride in the back in her Diono Radian 3R car seat. But, this if my wife wants to tag along, we were able to get the seating position comfortable for both people ONCE . Rather than praying she gets the exact position correct again (because she doesn't have the patience), will a slim profile aftermarket passenger seat be able to let her sit farther in the pocket of the seat, or should I just "buy a family vehicle" like the bitches on reddit were so helpful recommending? We love our GR86, I'm not selling it for a Prius (despite they actually look cool with the latest model year).

Are you willing to compromise on the safety of the car?

Aftermarket seats will necessarily get rid of the passenger front seat airbag

I'll just say I'm open to any option. My wife is more concerned having leg room for our daughter, so whatever enables leg room for both of my passengers is ideal.

So I'm aware that the stock seat has a weight sensor to enable/disable the front passenger airbag. 75% of the time it's just me, 20% it's me and my daughter in the back, 5% it's all three of us. I was not aware that aftermarket seats disable the front facing airbag (in the dashboard) all together...

Although.... do you mean there's an airbag within the seat itself?

If there's an airbag within the seat, then yes we can eliminate that in favor of both passengers having proper leg room.

My 5 years old also uses the passenger side back seat in my BRZ. He sits crossed legged and doesn't complain (with the passenger seat all the way back). It works fine for short trips and would be cheaper (free) than swapping the seat.

As for airbag, folks meant the side impact airbag which is a part of the seat. You can transplant the occupancy sensor to an aftermarket seat and put a resistor on the airbag connector to avoid an airbag light. This should preserve the function of the front impact airbag.

Should be able to cut a block of styrofoam or 2x4 or something to drop in the bottom of the footwell to stop the seat at a particular place.
A stick in the seat track and zip ties?

is this your only car? A fair bit of compromises made in order for a seat swap IMO

Yes, both front seats have an airbag inside of them
