Looks like you could use one of these to help you deal with that dealer.

For that I would threaten a lawsuit. That's basically ~65 miles, way more than they should have ever needed to put on there.

There are faint, dried up liquid lines on the side panels, probably from installing the window tint.

I'm writing them an email about it. I want my free detailing done at least, and hopefully there won't be any extra miles put on it then. After that I'll probably be taking my car somewhere else or doing it myself (that's assuming I'll be able to figure it out... I have plenty of miles before I need an oil change anyway).

I wouldn't let them detail the outside of the car, even if it was free. They could hurt the paint much more than do it good. Take it to a professional detailer if you can. So far I have no complaints for my tint, clear-bra, opticoat, oil change I got at a local mechanic, but the two times I've been to a dealership there were issues

I'm curious how this stuff will play out for me since I'm getting a lease and all my maintenance is covered by the dealership. I mean, I guess if they mess anything up they're still going to be responsible for fixing their mistakes so I'd just have to keep taking it back to them until they get it right.

The scion boost program sounds like the gm certified used program here at my dealership that I work at only for new cars. What we tell people who want to change their oil more often then the program allows is they pay for every other oil change. We go by the oil life monitor system, it has to be at 20% or less to be covered so basically we just don't reset the light on the oil changes the customer pays for.

Wild, this thread is a great reminder to always be on hand for any shop servicing. I would lose my shit if they took my car out for a joyride!

Takes all of 20 minutes to do yourself, if you're so inclined. Report your issues to Toyota Sales USA. They won't authourize oil changes outside of normal intervals, but they may resolve your concerns about the miles put on your car.

A good mechanic is like a good anything else. Find one and stick with em and they'll take care of you. I assure you that making an ass out of yourself at a dealer service department won't do anything but put you to the end of the line for any work in the future.

20 mins isn't the problem. I even asked them if I could just get the oil and filter and do it myself but they said no haha. the oil isn't cheap man! Well the Boost program covers oil change, refilling all transmission/engine fluids i believe, some multipoint check, and a tire rotation..

That just doesn't add up, you must be mistaken. You said it took more than an hour, I'm guessing less than 1.5 or you'd have probably said 1.5 hours, so that means they would have had to average nearly 60 miles an hour during the entire time they had your car, leaving only minutes to do the actual oil change.

You live in the area, do you think it's possible to average 60mph during the course of only 1 hour in the area surrounding the dealership? They also would have had to leave almost immediately after you left it with them.
