Overwatch

Has anyone pre-ordered Overwatch and has been playing in the open beta? Thoughts? Gripes? Favorite heroes? I want to get into competitive play once the official release hits and am looking for more solid players with FPS/team-based game experience.

Yes, was thinking about buying an xbox one for this and forza 6, and I need moar feedbackz from pplz. Haven't played FPS genre in awhile, and I know Blizzard makes really fun games. Not trying to get all competitive or anything, as it kills the experience for me lately, just trying to have some dirty casual fun.

In 25 words or less: It is fun... More fun if you have a group... Less fun if you suck at fps and team based games like TF2.

This pretty much sums it up but if you're new to FPS and team-based games and willing to put in the effort, it's a blast and even more-so with buddies.

I'll probably pick Overwatch over Battleborn, what do you play on? Got a random collection of multiplayer buddies and are always looking for more chill dudes to game with.

I preordered and played a little bit during open beta.

For me, Widowmaker and Bastion was the easiest to pick up and play with but I feel like Bastion is going to get nerfed. I so want to like Tracer and want to learn how to play her better but she's hard to play well. A good Tracer is a PITA though, I want to be that PITA moving forward. Last couple days of the beta, I played mainly support roles and have been loving it. Zenyatta has been my favorite but I did get a couple matches with Symmetra and enjoyed her as well. Her teleporter is great but I feel like she's almost a liability because she can't heal so that would require someone else to pick up another support character to heal if the team wants heals.

I love Bastion but if they nerf him, I feel that it will either be a slight damage nerf or a healing nerf. His mobility sucks already and his damage is good since he becomes stationary as a turret. I also play Tracer and Pharrah a lot depending on the map and team composition. Being able to hit and run as Tracer is a blast. Her sticky bomb is fun to use when they're grouped. If I play support, it is almost always Mercy. Her healing and damage boost is great but then Symmetra's turrets is good as well.

I played it on PC as well with some friends, definitely sold me on it, the beta was pretty well polished, some character balancing needs to be done and it's perfect. It runs awesome on a 980 as well maxed out FPS.

Awesome. I have the Radeon R9 285 and run it on max settings also with zero issues but that's to be expected with that card.

Played the open beta to level 16 IIRC, and preordered after that. Fun game indeed, if not in need of a little balancing, but that's to be expected. Hope there'll be a little more variation on the play types or maps in the final game (though unlikely?), cause it got somewhat stale after longer sessions. Great game to just jump into at any time though.

But yeah, if anyone likes TF2, you should love this. Great art direction, graphics and is 99% of the time a super smooth and polished gameplay experience.

The Open Beta is what they are releasing when it goes live but they are working on a post-launch update. I'm sure new maps and eventually new heroes will come at some point.

So, now that it's released, who's been playing? Played with a full team of friends for the first time last night, only been playing with to before, and it was even more fun! Matchmaking can really be a hit or miss sometimes though, we had some even matches, until we were matched against a team were their lowest leveled player was still three levels above our highest.. naturally, we had nothing to say in that match, absolutely steamrolled, which wasn't fun at all.

Other than that, you can have so much fun in the game.

I've been putting in a couple hours after work. I'm really enjoying it. My go tos have been Tracer, Zenyatta and Bastion.

Been loving this game to no end. Just wish I had more time to enjoy it! I really love all of the character designs. Blizzard did an amazing job incorporating a diverse cast of characters without sacrificing style or balance. I was honestly worried with how poor their game balance has been in the past.
