This is an off weekend from hare scramble racing for me so I am highly considering heading out there. Since I have never done anything like this before any tips for a complete noob? My FRS is pretty much stock, including tires. I would just be going for fun and to get my feet wet in Auto-X.

Also I have a few motorcycle helmets that meet Snell and DOT standards, are these ok to use?

I can talk to you more at the event, but my tip for a noob would be this; focus on how your car behaves, and get used to the dimensions ( you just have to feel it out). A stock FRS is actually really great to start with. Youtube videos tend to make autocross look confusing, it really isn't. Motorcycle helmet will be fine!

Thanks for the tips, I will probably sign up Monday. So if I just show up with me, the car, and a helmet I shouldn't need anything else?

That's it! and maybe painters tape to make numbers. Autocross is very chill for a motorsports event, and everyone is willing to help. Heck, I've seen minivans run.

Sounds good, I think I'll give it a run. Conveniently I have a fresh role of green painters tape down in the garage.

So what happens if you don't get the 12 people?

We wouldn't have our own heat, and would get the same amount of runs as the rest (4 or 5, instead of 7). If that happens Ill talk to them about getting $10 difference. It would be cool if we had the course all to ourselves, need 20 entrants.

I wish this was the weekend before or the weekend after, but I'll be in Atlanta that weekend.
