No FRS at Edmonton Motor Show

I just received an Email from my dealer stating he just found out the FRS will NOT be making an appearance. And yet Montreal and Toronto are seeing it? This doesn't really make any sense, does any one else have more info? Perhaps on the BRZ?

Any clue if the one showing up in Eastern Canada is specially one for the Canadian Domestic Market or if it's one brought up from the States?

If it's a Canadian one I'm wondering if it differs in any way to the American one.

If the only FR-S in Canada is at the Toronto Auto Show, there is no way to get it out to Edmonton on time...

And yes, it is Canadian-spec.

Verrrrrrry interesting (if true, key fob labeled it as a "prototype").... any known differences from US spec? I saw from a photo taken at the CIAS in another thread that it had a display screen in place of the hideous standard head unit, so it looks like that might be at least an option here?

It is a prototype, spec-correct for Canada. I'm not sure about any differences to US spec though...

I didn't see what head unit was installed, but we offer the standard and premium Pioneer audio units on every other Scion so expect the same for the FR-S.

Word if it's going to be in Calgary?

Also interested if they spec'd the seat heaters for Canada - lots of other maker do them standard while elsewhere they're options.

The head unit installed on the one at the Toronto Autoshow was a Pioneer multimedia unit. The speedometer was in MPH. The Scion representative also noted that this one didn't have heat mirrors, but the Canadian version will.

So i'm almost sure the one here in Canada is for the USDM

you are correct - I was mistaken about it being Canadian-spec accurate.

Boo. Another excuse to push up the price.

I was at the Montreal Auto Show and didn't see any sign of the FR-S at the Scion booth; just the BRZ at Subaru's.

I got confirmation from my Scion Rep yesterday that the FRS will be at the Vancouver Autoshow coming the first week of April.

So anyone wondering about Vancouver, I can confirm it will be there.

No word yet on if those of us in Vancouver are going to get the same treatment the people got in Toronto. I have a deposit down with Scion and I have yet to be invited to a private showing.

Either way, I plan on going to the Auto show to check the car out in person.
