Remember unlike cars, guitars are cheaper and the more broken, dirty, rusty, in pieces all chipped up it is...as long as it still plays and you dont break you neck or bow it, it is more unique and gets its own sound.


I had a Fender Strat from 1980's like this one in the early 2000's It weight like 500lbs. I bent the neck (also due to age), so I put a Jackson neck on. It went from being worth like $200 (I bought it) to about $500. Least that's what a guitar tech offered me. The guitar wasn't worth more than $200 because it was a mass produced strat. I checked lol


I then bought a Schecter with a Floyd Rose... may have it somewhere. I broke that one doing pinch harmonics before I broke my wrist. Then My Floyd Rose broke.... I abused the guitar. I put it away somewhere in my house.

Now I have a Little Martin because I can carry it anywhere and it has decent sound. I also have a cheap Jackson somewhere from my wannabe shred days.... (I am bad)

Anyway, you a fan of active pickups?

While I like active pickups they don't really match well with what I play(or played I been slacking for some time). I play a lot of blue, and just mess around with scales so passive pickups offer me better control of tonality and range (based on my input, speed, strength, etc.). For rocking and such active pickups are very awesome, basically the all have their uses and advantages/disadvantages.


I'm a huge fan or single coil twangy pickups (that's whyI got a telecaster as my one and only remaining guitar, good versatility but a nice twang)
