tomei UEL header BERK catted front pipe greddy intake tuned on ECUTEK

dyno tuned at Church automotive by Shawn! Been a long time fan of him from my middle school years and have heard so many good things. I wasn't expecting horsepower gains, but wanted a flatter torque curve (which is I went with a UEL header). If you are in SoCal, I strongly recommend Church automotive, as he really knows his stuff and backs it up. I bombarded him with tons of stupid questions and he dealt with me all day today and was super nice about answering all of my questions.

mods: tomei UEL header, BERK catted front pipe, greddy intake.

car being set up at the dyno

red dotted line is the baseline of my car. these are a few of many tries to correct the torque dip. Shawn was adjusting the cam angle on the intake side a lot to make things better.

I wanted to settle for this tune as I was really happy at this point but he insisted we go one more time...

this is the final tune. significant gains all over and best of all the torque dip has been minimized.

final numbers:

overall the car feels much smoother. cant wait for a supercharger kit

so 14 hp and 6 tq from headers, front pipe, intake, and tune? were you stock for the baseline or all the parts minus the tune?

looks like this is the baseline for a stock fr-s. the big difference would be that the OP is in MD vs CA which means he would be on 93 octane and the numbers cant be compared directly because of the calibration of the dyno, air temperature, humidity, yada yada... what you can compare though, is that it looks like the stock car suffers from the torque dip at around 3200-5000 rpms and my car has a minimized dip at 3200-4200rpms.

It's really not THAT much of a dip when you look at the numbers, the scaling on the graph just isn't what we're used to seeing. 115-155 as opposed to 0-155. A 12lb/ft torque dip is still fairly normal even with a UEL isn't it?

Yeah, scaling skewed the graph. Most tunes I've seen resulted in similar dips. Stock dip is much worse.

Looked at one I had on file from Bob at Drift-Office, his is about 5-10 dip at 3750...so yea the scaling just was a mind-f.
