Sounds like a slipping clutch from your description. You may have also found another issue with the fuel lines, but even if the fuel lines were having problems, it wouldn't make the car do what you describe. Slipping clutch will do just as you describe.
With FI power the stock clutch just won't last as long I think. |

If the car is drivable shift into a higher gear such as 4th or 5th and floor it. Revs increase and the car doesn't move? Your clutch is fried
