Question What do you look forward to in the morning?

For as long as I can remember I've been a night owl. I've tried many different things over the years to wake up without hitting snooze 10 times and be more productive in the mornings to no avail.

I read something interesting lately that recommended setting a morning routine that includes a "reward" or something to look forward to first thing.

Problem is there isn't much I look forward to in the context of morning. I don't drink or enjoy coffee (maybe why I've never become a morning person). I do enjoy breakfast foods, but the idea of cooking them is not as appealing as staying in bed.

Same thing for exercise. I enjoy working out in late afternoon, but in the morning it feels like torture.

Any suggestions or just want to share your morning routine?

i'm watching... i can naturally stay awake well into the early morning hours without even thinking about it, but trying to maintain getting up for work in the morning is a pain... everyone swears i'll get used to it, but never really have.

Get a dog. Not just any dog, but one that stares you down before you wake up to go for a walk before work. If you don't have one, there will be a learning curve that eventually has you looking forward to caring for your best friend and you at the same time. Very rewarding in almost any weather.

I wake up and sorta remember what getting ready for work and commuting used to be. Now the work from home thing, I look forward to going through the ritual of making espresso and watching cartoons. I have an essential function at my university because of the plant collection and plant research so I will roll into work around 11.

Maybe I look forward not to dragging my corpse out of bed to participate in mornings anymore?

I look forward to waking up every morning. Gonna hate it if I ever don't!

That’s the one thing life owes you and you’re going to hate it? Also, I mean you’re really not going to be able to hate it.

I always hated waking up early, but it was never a problem. My solution was to work night shift. For me it is so much easier getting up at 3pm and going to bed at 8am. I have no solution for waking up early though

What do you look forward to in the morning?

Just waking up on top of the grass.

If your morning wood has either color or colour you had best see a doctor!
