The racing probably could have been a little more exciting, but it was cool to see the scuffle between Massa and Bottas at the end. And it was extremely interesting watching poor Daniel Ricciardo just completely disintegrate. Dropping a spot, loose wheel at the pits, broken wing, 10 second penalty, and 10-grid penalty for next race. Unfortunately, it looks like he's got poor Webber's luck all over again. Which is a shame because I like Ricciardo to about the same degree that I dislike Vettel.

Some decent wheel to wheel racing in some of the corners, which is what you want to see from a GP. Though still a lot of retirements. I wonder how long it will be before we have a race where everyone makes it to the end.

The IndyCar race was far more entertaining IMO. The cars are beautiful even with fenders, the new twin-turbo engines sound better despite the 12K rev limit and any race is up for grabs even from the less well-funded teams. Plus the temporary airport/street circuit alongside a marina and Gulf of Mexico gave it an exotic feel compared to most of the sterile Hermann Tilke circuit designs (Singapore excepted).

I'm much more excited about the Toyota GP of Long Beach than Bahrain but am biased since I'll be there.

Kimi in 12th ohhhhhh the feels... it was really painful to watch.

Next stop Bahrain (yawn) someone really needs to stop Hermann Tilke.

And so begins a fourth season of wondering why Maldonado is continually given chances.

Not really surprising considering how open wheel + open cockpit = tons of drag and the wings are all smaller this year so as a proportion of total drag the DRS has less effect.

By the way, where do you guys watch the races? Maybe I'm an idiot but I am having trouble finding videos lol.

It looks like it's gonna be a good year for Mercedes and a rough one for Red Bull...

I feel bad for Ricciardo, his luck is horrible.

On the bright side, my girlfriend now has a major crush on Nico and Lewis because they're "gorgeous" so she actually watches the races with me now. She's a Mercedes fan.

I watched it recorded on NBCSN on my DVR. The British SkyF1 feed is usually available at any number of online resources.

I agree but what's ironic is that Tilke tracks are really good for sports cars or any non-open wheel series.

As for the race... First Mercedes one-two since the 1950's. Gotta love that!

Oh believe me I know, but ~$40 million seems to barely cover the amount of parts he breaks, not to mention the money lost by the consistent DNFs and penalties.

Bruno Senna had more top 10 finishes in one season with Williams than Pastor has in his entire F1 career. And that was with limited practice time in the car since they were training Bottas.

well he must have put considerably more money than publicly known or he's just that good at sweet talking himself into jobs

Read an interesting article about noise and RBR made comment that with current fuel restriction and low revs there is no real way to increase sound. The cure.... Higher revs encouraged by higher fuel flow. Perhaps they will eventually allow more fuel and higher revs during certain portions of the lap at least....

He said at 18k those engines would be more impressive and that no one is using 15k especially on the straights so they are even quieter than they could be

IndyCars sound better with their lower 12K restriction. Maybe something to do with their twin-turbos, fuel allowances or I mostly suspect due to no ERS.
