scangauge reads whatever signals the ecu can see.
an aftermarker oil temp sensor (unless it runs off the OBDii port) will have its own sensor to read temp which i would wager is not as accurate as the factory sensor. (obviously depends on placement)

I can't seem to get oil temp in F only in C. Am I missing something?

It was a - 35 and my coolant was at 191

Update: It's working on mine.

Just make sure you enter the right code, and also your fw ver is at least 4.05.

Is the is FRS CANSF? I got my scan gauge updated last week so I'm on 4.05

Yes, FR-S is CANSF. If you're getting oil temp in C correctly, that means the TXD, RXF, and RXD are correct. Just make sure the MTH is 0009 0005 FFD8 (for F).

Brillo, it's good to hear you got it working. I also got an email from Scangauge. They confirmed that my oil temp code is fully working, and they posted the code on their website.

I will add a full list of supported standard (mode 01) PID soon. Stay tuned.



Update: Added the Supported PID list to the 1st post.
