Well problem solved and lesson learned. MAF housing rotated back to approx 12-o-clock and everything runs fine again. I had no idea the MAF sensor was that sensitive, that simply having it in a slightly different position in the same tube section would cause an issue.

My JRSC has been running like a champ so far, except this morning. Throttle response was fine when in vacuum/below boost, but once I got into boost there was no power, just hesitation. No CEL. My Scangauge showed mileage was upwards of 47-48mpg, so its seeing way less fuel being used.

Only other thing thats occasionally caught my attention is cold starts. Sometimes they seem a bit labored and it doesn’t seem eager to fire up, kind of like an old radial airplane engine for just a split second. Once its started it smells rich. I’ve chalked this up to now also turning the tune, and laboring from the supercharger but was curious if it may be related.

Any ideas where to look first?

Actually at the time of writing this, I remember just yesterday I installed a new hood liner and rotated the MAF tube forward for better clearance, and I can’t recall if the MAF sensor orietation is critical- i.e. if it needs to be upright… Gonna check the instructions now.

Edit- The instructions do state MAF to be directly vertical. Would this actually cause the issue I’m experiencing if its rotated forward 90 degrees?
MAF should be vertical. The MAF works on assumptions, including orientation.

Anyone else running the PTuning flex fuel kit and the JRSC — running into some fitment issues with the ethanol sensor and the oil reservoir needing much of the same space. Going to look at modifying the sensor bracket to give more room for the oil line and reservoir, but curious if others have solved in other ways.

On my personal BRZ with a JRSC on the car I moved the oil reservoir to the passenger side cross bar next to the battery to be able to keep our flex fuel kit unmodified.

Does this my come with an oil cooler? The FTspeed website shows that it does in the layout of all parts picture. But doesn’t actually mention it in the features portion of the page. Curious if this is just a standard jackson racing feature or not.

It has a oil cooler for the Rotrex Oiling System. NOT a Engine Oil Cooler. That is separate.

Thanks @ptuning for the suggestion on moving the oil reservoir. She’s all buttoned up and ready for some warm weather so I can start her up for the first time!

Hey guys,

New to the forums and this is my first post, but I had a hard time trying to take off the air intake to replace it with a new one. I loosened the clamp but could not pull out the intake. I had the supercharger kit professionally installed, so I am a bit new to how everything was installed. If anyone could give me any tips on how to take off the intake that would be great!

Mine did recently and is getting replaced this week. My car has 125,000 miles on it and is naturally aspirated. I suspect it is just due to age and heat cycling of plastic.

Probably but i remember there use to be a JR part for this that was made out of aluminum but i opted out of it because i thought it was uncalled for. Then i go out there and crack it while data logging. better than on pocono i guess
