Front license plate bracket

https://parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru_20...OA342L171.html

Will this Subaru License Plate Mounting Bracket fit the existing 2 pre-drilled holes in the front bumper? Alternatively, are there any hard rubber brackets that will fit?

I picked up one of these converter brackets JDM>USDM. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0?ie=UTF8&th=1

Alternatively, there are tow-hook mounts which would avoid the built-in mount.

The first gen tow hook mounts are a bit short so they only fit if it had full adjustablility of the angle like the Ptuning or Grimmspeed

Correct. My PTuning one fits perfectly. They actually used my car as the test fit to confirm.

Pretty sure I commented on your FB post in the 2022 group when you posted it lol.

I used the Grimmspeed from my Gen1 to test fit on my wife's Gen 2 before ordering. So it's confirmed too lol

this is what I bought, and had to get my own screws since the ones with the bracket were too small for our brz pre-drilled holes. Otherwise works and looks great

Why would anyone use the tow hooks to mount a license plate when there is already a plate mount moulded into the front bumper? Put a plate off to the side and leave the glaring plate mount exposed that's moulded into the bumper.

People are weird!

Honestly, everytime I see that front plate spot, I think an LED light bar is exactly what needs to go there lol.

The first gen didn't have molded plate spots.
The dealer used a 3/4 inch hole saw to punch two holes and stuck threaded clips on the side.

ew.

I ordered the bracket @Panda Grahams pointed to.

My dealer said there was no way he was drilling holes into my bumper.

I didn't choose to drill into my front bumper, but I don't want to be harassed by the cops either. I bought this https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...+Plate+Bracket

It doesn't look great but I have now have time to find a better solution, it was 7 bucks.

Thanks for this thread! I was about to ask the same thing.

@jvincent - Have you already installed it and verified that it fit your car? (or same question for @Panda Grahams, I guess)

@Dubscientist - Same question for you - Have you already installed it and verified that it fit your car?

Thanks!
