Borla Catback Vibration
Just installed a Borla catback and love it but I’m getting a very heavy vibration mid vehicle when I accelerate after just starting it up. Generally goes away once I have been driving for 15 minutes or so. Sounds like a woodpecker is in my car. Shop said exhaust was very very close to frame with no wiggle room for adjustments. Found a few cases on the internet complaining of same thing. I’ve emailed Borla and I’m waiting to hear back from them. Thoughts ? Solutions ? 2015 BRZ.

Fitment issues with Borla products is pretty much the norm, not the exception. Mark the pipe where it touches the frame, take it off and give a few bangs with a big mallet. |

Allow me to introduce you to Bubba. Along the lines of what ol @Yoshoobaroo suggested, Bubba says just to take a crowbar and pry the exhaust piece away from where it's hitting the frame and "wire it over". humfrz |

I had a similar problem. My entire exhaust is aftermarket so hanger points dont exactly match up. The effect was the connection for the borla muffler to the center pipe was getting pushed to the left side and making the mufflers edge too close to the car body. I fixed by fabbing a replacement bracket for the center pipe where it attaches to the trans so it would pull the pipes over a little. Just used some aluminum stock from local hardware store. Some appropriate bends and holes. Get everything in place and tighten. So far so good.
