Once i finish fitting everything i will send to swaintech to coat everything to cut down on heat. Look at the hoonicorn piping. They use swaintech there and it works awesome. http://swaintech.com/race-coatings/r...aust-coatings/

Already have a full blown radiator and upgraded fans. Heat should not be an issue with everything coated. Engine never got above 196 under repeated hard runs previously. Need to find vents for the hood now. Think this would make the biggest difference.
Also found an ls3 waterpump and spacers to move the outlet to the drivers side on ebay for 51.00. Pulled off a crate engine. Cant go wrong there!

Thanks for keeping us updated on this thread. Definitely some valuable info in here. My favorite article I read on the 4.8 was a HotRod article I believe. They had what they thought was a 5.3 that they swapped cam heads and used forced induction. Made crazy power and they tore it down to realize it was 4.8 lol.

Thats the article I read and then did a bunch of research on dwell time. The 4.8 has the most dwell time of any ls due the 3.27" stroke which means FI works better than any LS. I got mine for 500 from oil pan to manifold out of a truck with 120k. My goal is 780rwhp at 10-14 psi and 2700 lbs and the ability to make 1k if i need to.

Cut out a hole in the hood for the 2nd turbo. Going to make a rounded section to cover it.

Mocking up intercooler piping. Intercooler will be here monday then i can mount it. Hood is being welded right now. Switched to all ls3 accessories. Waiting on balancer. Got the manual belt tensioner in and cut the alternator mount down by 3/4 of an inch. This way i don't have to use waterpump spacers and everything lines up with the corvette belt line. Also if i ever get another engine (looking at the cost of an ls3 block with 4.8 crank for 8k rpm) the accessories are ready to go. Ground the block slightly and everything lines up.

Got the intercooler and piping in. Need to weld one pipe to the throttle body piping and put the clamps on. Next i need to put the new balancer on, belt, and remove all piping to make beaded ends on. All the hot parts of the turbo system need to go to swaintech after the downpipes are done too.

Isn't that intercooler way undersized for a pair of turbos feeding a V8? My STI had half the horsepower you're going to end up with and my intercooler was bigger than that.

How thick was your core? That has a lot more to do with cooling efficiency than just length and width.

3.75".

My eyeballs could be way off I guess, but unless those are 4" intercooler pipes that looks like the same thickness.
