In that case, try to find out what his 1SG's contact info is. Or his CO. They tend to like knowing when one of their troops is being a dirtbag. If you're in the Army, you should be able to look that info up in the global address list or the base intranet.

If this scumbag truly is in the Army and you have his name, just start calling different people on his base. Trust me, they'll find him if he truly is in and stationed there. They will also investigate the claims, don't think for a second they won't. They'll also be swift in taking it out on his paycheck and hopefully by demoting him. This kind of turd doesn't deserve to be serving our country, if he's willing to scam like this there's no telling what he's doing to other brothers in arms...

Someone who has access to the Army GAL can look him up and find out the unit he's assigned to. From there they can move to the base Intranet and look up the command staff for that unit. That should give them the commanding officer, executive officer, sergeant major, and first sergeant. The 1SG or the SGM would love to know that their troop just stole $2300 from someone. Especially since theft of a motor vehicle part valued at over $1K is a Class I felony in North Carolina.
