I am working on swapping my 2013 coil packs to the 2015 style in hopes that the upgraded coil packs don't fail as often. I bought the Off the Line coil pack adapters to do that. I have some faith that this should help but I have come up with a way to make replacing them at the track easier just in case.

Once I break the bolt loose with a wrench I will be able to spin the extended bolt out by hand. I will add a tack weld to make sure the nut doesn't move.

good idea! Oddly enough coilpack failure was one of the things I never experienced on my 2013. I did wrap them in gold heat tape though.

Interesting idea, I might do this once I finally pop one. 245k km on the stock ones and they're still going, but I do carry a spare in my track tool box.

Let me know if you guys want spares. My 2014 just had the original ones swapped out as a maintenance procedure. As far as I can tell nothing is wrong with any of the four.

I dont know what it is that makes is happen. Mine are gold taped and hood vented. I have a good friend that has a 2013 that goes to all the same events, same mileage, we even store our cars at the same shop. He has never had one go. I have been through 4.

Well guys. I think I am going to sell the FRS.

I tried to plan for it but having a kid changed my priorities more than I thought possible. When I have time I don't have any ambition to work on the car. Not that it really needs anything but a racecar is never done. I made it too time consuming and expensive to get to the track and want to move to something street friendly for the foreseeable future.

So if you are interested keep an eye out for the ad coming soon or PM me and I will send you the info.

Definitely sad to see you go, I hope you don't though (selfish as that may be)! Loved seeing the updates on this car here as well as on your Instagram.

I might not be going to far. One of the cars on my list is a GR86 if I cant find, or stomach the price of, a decent M240i or M340i. Just have to test how my son's car seat would fit in the back. Sooooooo there is hope for me.

I can't imagine wresting with a car seat and child in an 86. No way, no how. I know people do it but they're nuts!

Get a 4 door and save yourself lol

My kid has been in my daily once in the 9 months he has been breathing air. Either of the BMWs would have more space thus the reason for me leaning that way but for as little as he is in my car, I think it would be ok. To be verified tho.

I’m in a similar situation as you. Just had my second kid and I can’t see myself doing more than a handful track days for the next few years. Decided to de-mod my FRS and sell it while the market is hot. My BRZ2 should be coming in May. I’ll enjoy it stock for a while and just store my track parts somewhere until my second one gets a bit older.

FWIW here are some other cars I was considering (sub-$50k, able to transport kids if necessary, fun on track):

- GR Corolla
- 1LE Camaro SS
- CTR

At $28k, I felt the BRZ2 was clearly the best value for what I wanted (I’m biased towards light rwd cars) but they’re all amazing cars for the money.

Ever since I posted I was selling the car I have attempted to do so. Every time I have the ad ready to click "post" I think about all the time and money I have into this car and I chicken out. I do not need the money, or another vehicle so, for now, I am going to keep it. I might change my mind again. We will see. I will continue to store it and I hope to get some miles on it in 2023.

I really appreciate those of you who reached out to say thank you.

While I don't advocate making decisions based on sunk costs, I'm selfishly glad to hear it. Hopefully you'll get out there soon.
