Purchased it with 26k miles. Needed a valve cover gasket after a few thousand miles, battery which has to be coded to the ECU, spark plugs, the DCT ECU was reprogrammed multiple times to get it to act better in traffic.

Oil Filter Housing Gasket and then the tensioner and belt. The OFHG is import to fix because of how the harmonic balancer/crank pulley is setup. Essentially the OFHG will leak oil onto the tensioner, causing it to fail, and most times when it fails, the belt gets sucked past the front main seal into the the crankcase. At this point, it's a crap shoot on whether you get away with no damage, or gets sucked into crank or rod bearing necessitating a rebuild.

Then it started making a weird at nice high RPM that my indy couldn't figure out if it was rod knock at high RPM or the DCT screwing up.

So I literally drove it a mile down the street and traded it in on a lightly used '18 Mazda 3. The DCTs new are $9k and it would have been $6-8k just to put in another used engine. So I cut my losses and got out of it.

Thank you for the feedback. The M2/Supra is something that i will consider even now but stories like this that keep me in check!

Just got my VIN! I decided to call SOA and give them the VON after seeing everyone else get their VIN. ETA is August 9th! Ordered from Subaru of Naples in Southwest Florida. Manual W/ short throw in Crystal Black Silica. VIN ends with 00007!

The B58 in the new cars is a substantially better engine than the N55 that was in my 135. Toyota did a ton of reliability testing on it and BMW change some things, hence it's lower power rating the first year of release.

But I'd still be weary of owning a modern turbo BMW out of warranty.

My '23 has original delivery date of 8/5, but was just delivered today (7/28). Pretty happy with the pace of events. It's a base manual gray.

Yeah, the B58 is a thing of beauty. It was BMW issues that drove me to my gen 2 BRZ.

I had a '16 435 MSport with MSPK and the Dinan Shockware flash. The N55 in my car was late in production and rock solid. However the car had other issues.

The A/C never worked totally right despite having two TSB's performed on a known problem. The condenser would ice up with long period use in high humidity conditions.

Steering rack was starting to go out. In the F30 car's the entire electric steering system is one single unit... At least 4K+ in parts if you can find them. The whole front of the car has to be disassembled to replace it.

Needless to say I took the positive equity in the car and started hunting for a Gen 2 Twin. Toyota couldn't help me, but Subaru was more than happy to put me in a car, so here we are...

That's awesome. When you get it, can you post whether or not you have heated seats? I read somewhere that the 23' base (premium) now comes with them but I haven't seen it confirmed.

The Subaru site shows the Premium as having heated seats and the 8-speaker stereo; as X25 notes, that’s a mistake and the Premium has neither.

I thought so as well, turns out they called me yesterday and bumped it up to August 7th now. lol

So I bought the wheels and bags, lmao

Just called Subaru of America and still no VIN and an ETA of October like they originally told me. I put in my order on 4/21 and got my email from Subaru with my VON the same day. I'm curious if they are building them in batches based on color. Mine is a red limited. Seems strange that mine wouldn't be in this first shipment that has hit otherwise.

For everyone who has gotten their VIN for a 2023, what color and trim did you order?
