Two auto shows comming up - will we see the GR86?
So we have Auto Shanghai 2021 on the 21-28 of next month - we know Toyota is bringing the new prelude (edit: X Prologue sorry), but not sure.
And I think the Atlanta International Auto Show next month also has both Subaru and Toyota lined up to show something - which is interesting in itself as there are only 12 manufacturers lined up. But who knows - I really don't know much about what auto shows are candidates for car reveals. I mean the LA one was rescheduled to its usual November placement (it was going to be May), and I don't reckon it will be that long. Anyone got any guesses or better insight into the auto shows? Are Toyota & Honda doing this together?... I always appreciated My Gen 1 & 2 of the Honda variety… I suspect Auto shows this year will be quite low key. |

I'd be surprised any manufacturer debuts a car at the Atlanta Auto Show. It's typically not very large although with cancellation of other shows I suppose anything is possible.
In 2012, even though it was only a few weeks before it would be in showrooms, Toyota/Scion didn't even bother bringing the FRS, although Subaru did bring one silver BRZ. Really Atlanta is more like an extended multi-make showroom than what I would consider an auto show.

This is the impression I get. It's less of a premiere floor, and more of a "NO NO, LOOK HERE, 0% FINANCING FOR 6 MONTHS ON THE NEW RAV 4, BEST IN CLASS CUPHOLDER DEPTH!!!"

Yea, I go every third year or so, just to look at the high volume models all in one place (trucks, Camaros, Mustangs, a few exotics). I typically get through the whole floor in less than two hours.

The Shanghai auto show MIGHT only be the new EV crossover and maybe some more ASEAN market products (like the Corolla Cross or Yaris cross if they haven't been introduced in some places yet).

Doubt the 86 will be revealed in Shanghai since it didn't even make the list of 440 ranked sales!
This Dong Fukang Elysee did though. https://carsalesbase.com/china-car-s...-january-2021/

Toyota said they wanted to do a proper big event for it - I guess there is the NY Show coming up as well. Personally I had some interesting things happen recently for me, as in the car procurement team got in contact with me to say that they will be handling my order from this point (I deposited last year). However they said they had no information to release. It got me thinking about things that might be happening soon. Probably nothing, but it was nice to be in some kind of process now. |

It is absolutely a render, and you can clearly see the differences between the patented bumper and this rendered one. Based on a couple lines and edges, I believe the true bumper will look slightly better than that, but only time will tell. I think the main attraction for me here, is the color RED!
