The grout between the tub and file floor was cracking and looking bad. I always was told to use caulk between tile and tub/pan. Needs to be flexible.

Well, I'm removing the grout with a grout saw and discovered they put grout over a bead of caulk. Going to take forever to dig that old rock hard stuff out.

Spent the last few weeks installing converging pockets doors on both ends of the living room to keep the cats off the new furniture.

Finished up Saturday morning, just in time for my birthday party.

I love pocket doors. If I ever build another house, all the internal doors will be pocket doors, and the bedroom closet doors will be bookshelf doors.

The problem with double pocket doors is you can't put a light switch near them. It's a loooong reach in the dark.

What I hate about pocket doors is when something goes wrong.

That was probably the longest hold up in getting started was deciding what to do with switches. I moved the one box to the spot below

It's not code since it's not inside the living room, but it works for the room.

Could you use a footswitch right inside the door? Not sure if that's code for residential or not.

I ran into this in my half bath in my master bedroom. No place to put a lightswitch on the wall on the door side. Being it is such a small room I just stuck the switch on the inside wall by the sink and used a timer switch to run the light and fart fan. You can also get these remote switches, and where the remote goes is just like mounting a switch plate to the wall. They are spendy but handy for these types of situations. I am running one for my light for the stairs.
