Now that certainly is an interesting wrinkle! Doesn't claim to be a 2021 anyplace on the document. Just appears to be an extension of the 2020s.

Subaru of America resumed orders for the BRZ today. I ordered one today and it's coming Month-of-September. They might have extended production and delayed their schedule for U.S. cars since they stopped a couple of months.

I think I said it before, but maybe it was overlooked. It is not always easy to extend the production for a few more months. In Europe for example they had to change certain internals, because the new car registrations had to pass a new regulation. So, it looks to be a pretty conscious decision.
From what I was seeing and hearing the platform was pretty much "dead" and then something happened. Maybe this guy insisted to stop the nonsense and move forward ... Latest images from ToyotaTimes: Last edited by nikitopo; 07-25-2020 at 11:01 AM. |

370Z = 332HP
3,300lbs/332HP = 9.94lbs per HP 86 = 205 HP 2,800lbs/205HP = 13.65lbs per HP You can’t undo that. Of course, power isn’t everything, but a better power to weight ratio matters for performance. The Z is heavier for a reason. Bigger brakes, much wider tyres with lots more lateral grip. To make factory 370Z power safely at the same price, Toyota would almost certainly have to increase the 86s weight to similar levels. People criticise the Z’s weight, yet the much newer and more expensive Supra weighs even more with ‘officially’ not that much extra power (it’s way underrated in typical BMW fashion though). Quote:

Fair. It's not just the Z that's getting heavier. It's common with most models now. Lighter cars are more fun IMO. Power to weight on the 86 is easily modified. Of course, I'm going the long route lol |

Which is probably the reason for the new catalogue since starting July and ending end of Dacember our sales tax was lowered from 19% to 16% as a stimulus in the recession. So they had to change that. |

Nope. They did other modifications apart the tax change. One change was to get an approval for Euro 6d-TEMP-EVAP-ISC (mentioned in the previous attachment). They couldn't get new registrations without complying with the new regulation. This requires to include a pressure equalisation line on the petrol tank, which prevents negative pressure from forming in the tank.
