Also annoying part of Koni Yellow is, you gotta drill bigger hole for the rear top hat.

ATM Koni Yellow or Cusco Touring-A. Of course, if I wanna run in SSC class in Autox, I should be running Koni Yellow... but it's not like local members care that much (& I'll prob be only one running in SSC lol).

So after 4 years my battery is basically DED. 8.5v after 24hrs in sub zero temps. After reading the battery thread on here I'm leaning towards a Lithium Ion...

Yeah I'm on 4yrs which is typical I guess. 5yrs is great. You must be from Southern Japan where it's warm. Or you have a heated garage?

No, I live in middle of nowhere... aka Utah. Hot and cold is extreme here. Within that 5 yrs, I had a shop repair (car wreck) and they recharged my battery too, so that might helped too.

Yeah must be. My battery was acting up last winter even but then Spring came and it was magically fine again so I forgot about it. This winter my car becomes a pumpkin in no time. It was so bad this morning my jumper wouldn't even recognize that it was a battery. Took the wagon to work. I have it on a trickle charger now and it might start again after that but I'm definitely replacing it ASAP. I just haven't totally decided if I want to go Lithium Ion or not but I like the idea of light weight and easy start even if you only get 2k of them or whatever.

I thought Koni started selling full replacements for the twins?

Oh, I didnt realize the top hats had to be drilled. I thought you were talking about how to deal with the inserts and cutting/drilling the bottom.

nah. Rear Koni Yellow struts require lil bit of drilling on stock top hats for struts to fit. it's not much... just extra hassle.
