WRX STi wheels are a different bolt pattern and have a much more positive offset so that car must have wheel adapter spacers on it.

18x9.5 Enkei TS-5 5x100 +45

Will these clear? Did search but didn't see these listed. My car has coilovers, so that issues there.

ALSO... Is there an 18x10 +43-45 lightweight wheel out there that will clear the Brembos (other than going to a Forgeline, CCW build, etc)? Building the car to a class where size matters lol

Yup those are ~2012 STi wheels by Enkei 18x8.5" +55 offset with 5x114 bolt pattern. My guess is that there is at least a 25mm thick spacer/adapter to convert it from 5x100 to 5x114.

Yeah, 17x9 +45 is known to be too close for factory suspension. I personally wouldn't run any 17x9 wheel with offset higher than +40. See also this post.
Made me kind of sad since those APEX wheels look really good but I am planning to stay on stock suspension for a long time.

However, @Nesh did make it work with his setup so maybe there is hope!

a) You can do APEX wheels on stock suspension. 17x9 et42 turns into 17x9 et39 by just using a 3 mm spacer if you run into any issues at et42.
b) Any big wheels will make your car look like a monster truck on stock suspension.

yep!!

17x8 ET45 is a good choice for stock suspension to avoid the Monster Truck Look.

I am also planning on not using spacers. Think I will most likely opt for a 17x8 ET45 set up in the future. I have my eyes on the Enkei TFR 17x8 +45; hoping that I would not run into any rubbing issues since this seems to be the only picture I can rely on.

Appreciate the help! Learning so much and it is so invigorating.

That's the plan!

yeah... impossible to know if they are running spacers up front or not. the RPF1 is always a great option (i know "everyone has them," but i happen to like how they look), 17x8 ET45 fits, and they're very light.

(also, congrats on the BRZ RS, fellow canadian and RS owner! )

Should not need any spacers. I've got 17x8 et 48 OZ Alleggerita with no spacers. I am still on 215/45 17 though. Even using maxed out lower camber bolts, the rim clearance to the strut tower is about 5-6mm.

i was referring to the enkei TFR mentioned above, and brembo caliper clearance (not strut clearance)... after all, that's what this thread is for.

Hard to tell just by "rubbing issues" Mine clear the Brembos as well, but that won't help you.

Thanks, I have OZ Ultraleggera's in the same size and offset with 225/45R17 tires and only have 9/16" of clearance to the strut. I haven't added any camber bolts yet so I was worried about clearance when I do put in camber bolts. It's a bit too close for comfort given the tire flexes in and out during cornering.

Tire flexes in and out on contact patch with ground. Unless your wheel bearings are shot with insane play, tire sidewall should rotate at same distance above. If clearance is sufficient along compress/droop travel of suspension/wheel/tire, tire sidewall flex shouldn't be to worry about.

I wish APEX made 17x8 wheels.
