I haven't been this excited for a game in some time. I've played every version of Flight Sim going back to before Microsoft owned it. Honestly, I've never mastered any of them. This one looks like it will be worth putting some time into.

On another note, Halo 3 was released this week for the PC in the Master Chief Collection. Looking forward to that since I didn't play any of the versions that were xBox exclusives.

Approximately 109 days to go.
The scary thing is that once upon a time I would have though that was for ever but now I'm thinking mmmmm.... it's not that far away.

F*ck, it's already August.

Anyone trying Horizon Zero dawn on PC next week?

Never played it before but it looks like a great game with an interesting premise.

Same here, I'm going to preorder today.

I'm thinking of going all in and upgrading my Sidewinder FF 2 except the choices are far greater than I last checked. Without breaking the bank (prices of some advanced controllers increased overnight), which PC controller would you suggest or is the venerable Sidewinder still good enough?

I don't use a stick. Since the real-world general aviation planes I fly have a yoke, I have a set is Saitek yoke, pedals, etc that I use, but right now are put away. I need to pull them out and set up a rig. I also have the throttles, and a couple of their switches.

What I'm really hoping though is that MS gets the VR stuff working. Not sure that will be at launch because they didn't focus on it.

20xx is free this week on EGS. Very similar to megaman x games if anyone liked those. It's awesome with an xbox/ps4 controller,

I had no idea that the world of Cyberpunk table-top rpgs was so detailed. Then again I've never played a pen and paper rpg. There is so much back story and lore.

These pics are from the book The World of Cyberpunk 2077.

I've not read of this game before but after watching the clip I am reminded of a little guilt trip I often go on when starting a new game.
I know some AAA game studios spend a lot of time and money making a sound track for a game but when I'm going through the options of any game for the first time I always turn the music volume down to zero.

I do the same except I usually leave it at about 10%, just barely audible.

Even in the games with great tracks its typically distracting and overpowering. I play mainly RPG and FPS games. In neither case does it make sense to have an orchestra following you around to highlight the world in music.

Now, everyone else in my family that games disagrees, because they happen to be musicians.

Oh man, for most RPGs the soundtrack adds so much to the atmosphere!

I can’t imagine Mass effect, Skyrim/ESO, or the Witcher without the soundtrack.

I guess that's why the provide separate volume levels!
