My Main concern is that the exhaust gets too loud, at least for german Standards. Can you give me an idea how the noise level is, lets say compared to a bone stock Mk5 Camaro? I also decided to use the Perrin 3" resonated, as well the CX headers. There will be a little extra noise reduction due too the converters I believe. I assume you dont use any, correct?
Unfortunately I dont have much video from outside of the car.

I am not running converters and my engine is far from stock so it will sound quite different, but it is slightly louder than a SS Camaro when driving casually. Running converters on it will help significantly.

This looks really nice. I will plan on doing this with my swap. It looks like that intake uses the LS3 MAF. Is that correct? Do you plan on swapping from the LS2 MAF to LS3 MAF?

I am.

Though for the week its running without the MAF connected, its running MAP only (luckily its tuned for both situations). It is a connector change and changing the order of the pins in the connector. Then a minor voltage change/remap with HPtuners.

Whats the reasoning for keeping the MAF around if you can run SD?

low speed accuracy and air intake temps.

Good eye, its a Ripper! Theres also a P&H Scorpio MKII outside.
They're both my friends but I'm looking to pick up one here in the next couple weeks.

An updated engine bay photo with new intake below:

New dyno run put it 453hp @6100rpm 440lb ft torque at 4300rpm.

13HP increase over the previous intake with its relatively long/gentle sweeping 90° right off the throttle body.
Intake temps have dropped SIGNIFICANTLY over the filter in the engine bay.

Some updates:

The car is in the body shop right now, I had some minor repair work done to fix a dent and replace the bumper middle of last year after some damage from a trailer. Unfortunately the shop didnt do the job up to spec, so its at another shop now getting redone.

Maybe I missed it. Did you ever determine the cause of the engine failure? Fluke? Oil starvation? Knock event? Bad bearing?

If so, did you do anything new to mitigate it from reoccurring?

High G-force cornering caused oil starvation.

Steps to prevent:
  • Melling 10295 high pressure oil pump
  • ImprovedRacing Baffle insert
  • Oil Cooler
  • Oil Pressure/Temp Gauges
  • Accusump Installed

I hope this is enough for you! I had an almost identical setup minus the accusump. I know some people swear by them.

Hi @spitsnaugle, I need your assistance. I'm expiriencing some serious heat issues when driving with AC at high outside temps, especialy when driving slow.

Load of the engine has an effect, but minor compared to switching AC on/off. I know you modified your hood. My issue here is that the mod you did would be massively illegal in Germany. As well it would not suit my design concept for the car.

So what are your expiriences with that? Did you try different radiators/fans etc and maybe collected some data?

I'm running the skunk2 ultra which is pretty much the biggest rad I could imagine to fit the frs. I know that surface area is much more decisive than size, but I dont see a very big difference betwenn the skunk ultra and EG the Jackson racing.

Some thought? BTW, are you running a under flor liner?
