I'm hoping that 17s will still clear the hopefully-forthcoming PP model brakes...

"Preliminary Specifications. All data estimated and not final."

Reading the quotes you've taken out of the press release tells me you're searching for words to support a conclusion instead of inferring the most probable answers. Relax, the "final answers" will come in 9 months or so.
It is the data we have now. From the manufacturer. Yes some will change as they said. It is still more accurate than "inferring the more probable" which just means assuming.

How do you know the data ins inaccurate? where do you get the real numbers from?

It is the opposite. I am not trying to use the data to support a conclusion I am developing a conclusion using the data. Seems to be an unacceptable concept to actually use data here. Better to just make shit up to support what people want to hear I guess.
So many will believe every word some clickbait will write but ignore the actual published data. Unbelievable.

yep if you don't like the facts as presented you just change them to meet your desires and all is good.
Seems to be the thing to do these days.

so since they got rid of the easily customizable fender garnish, do yall think the ducktail & little spat/arch on the rear wheel wells will be the new swappable parts? those 2 pieces look like they are separate from the trunk and quarter panel as they are have some panel gaps. could be interesting for those folks who say they hate ducktails..idgi but to each their own

its better to do an overlay when the blueprints are released or at least those 3rd model renderings. its hard to make an accurate comparison with two random photos.

Anyone else notice that the BASE new Civic has a turbo and more power? I get all their arguments but as the rest of the industry marches forward this car will still feel comparatively underpowered, even with the new stronger engine, and ESPECIALLY at altitude. I need to test drive it at home between 9,000-11,000ft before buying to see if it has enough torque to break the tires loose in 2nd gear without a clutch pop.
Where are you getting this from? The new 2022 Civic as from what I can tell is in prototype status and has no confirmed specs besides 4 wheels 4 doors some windows and lights. I would love to see a source.

Ah, I was conflating Premium and Limited in my head (not a Subaru native).

That whole top fin element within the grille section is also part of it.

And the rear covers are shown in this post, directly above the exhaust pipes.

I don't care for the tear drop looking ducts under each front headlight. Nor the big fin-thing below each rocker panel on the sides. I'm surprised people like those two elements, but as mentioned, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I wonder what the rear tail lights look like at night? I very much like the round lights on my first gen BRZ when lit up.

Overall very happy Subaru is still offering this car - hope it sells well. And hey Subaru - how about offering the car in red in the USA again? WTH - Subaru discontinued the color red in the USA for the last year of the first gen 2020 model. A sports car not offered in red?! Subaru don't pull that nonsense with the new version.
not directing this towards you, but IIRC, back in 2011 when the 86 was unveiled a lot of people were whining about this and that (Z4 tail lights, rising of the hood, ect). like with a lot of new cars it will take sometime to get adjusting to.

yeah those look odd as f***. agree, they could have done a better job with the fin. maybe something like the RCF?

The new twins will have 97% of the power to weight ratio of the current WRX. With a more appropriate torque curve of course.
It sounds like this car wont need to be modified from stock much at all. That itself would have saved me a ton of money and helped preserve resale value.

Agreed, one of these with an E85 tune, PS4s, and some lowering springs will be damn quick.
