Can't say it's a test vehicle too
If it's not part of the test why is there a camera mounted to the passenger side windshield just like the one in the 86?

I'll admit it, I've done this, not on purpose. I've worn masks, helmets, or face shields so much in my various jobs and hobbies over the years that I have a tendency to forget I have them on.

In the end though I think @Yoshoobaroo nailed the reasoning shared vehicle. Remember the mask is 75% to protect everyone else from you.

Curious how the Subaru version looks.... if it exists.

So far the design doesn't strike the right notes for me. I still remember the first FR-S I saw in person in 2014, and how I was head over heels about the design

Is the white color on the GR models special, like some sort of tri-coat deal, or is it the same as Toyota's other white color?

nice photoshop!

i actually do like that front end a lot better than the previous iterations. still unsold on the more pill-shaped headlights. the pointy headlights on the previous gen's were what made it different from most other production vehicles, but i like the grille!

If Toyota was going to use one of their engines they would not have gone to Subaru in the first place and the car as it is would not exist. What they came up with may have been better or could have been much worse.

I don’t mean to imply that the FA20 is a junk engine. Like Yoshoobaroo said it was the first NA motor to achieve 100hp per liter in some time, which is very cool. I know that was a benchmark for Toyota (and Subaru?). And he also made a good point that this motor was designed with stricter emission standards. Toyota makes strange decisions sometimes, and they have been reluctant to add more turbo engines for some reason. They make sense because you can achieve good emissions and good power.

S2000 F20C made 125HP per liter though. long before the FA20

Hence why he said "in some time".

Yeah I meant since the F20C, and not including any exotics like the LFA. Honda created a masterpiece with the F20 motors, but emissions standards weren’t as strict.

The FA20 is better than what most auto journalists and reviewers have said. That is one spoiled group of people. Lol It could have been something a little more special though. Especially after the refresh in 2017.

Not just emissions.

The S2000 cost $35K in 2009. In the same year, the FRS probably would have cost around $22,000. You could get a '09 Mustang GT for $27K.

The S2000 was over-engineered and unobtainable. The twins were built to be the opposite. The GEN-II is probably very much the same.

Correct, the S2000 would cost $50-55k in today’s money. It’s in a completely different class.
