Header comparison. NO E85

RevWorks header + full nameless exhaust + drop in perrin filter.

FA20CLUB 4-1 Modular Header

E85 only. Waiting for a pump gas dyno

P&L Header Green line is pump gas I guess.

JDL header Only has been tuned on e85... doesn't really count...

Borla UEL header

Nameless Header

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now everyone do me a favor and look at the torque curves.... Look back at the revworks.... Yupp.... thats some awesome. I'll get some better dyno's of the RevWorks header soon. And some comparisons. Everyones thoughts?

My thoughts are the only dyno graph that looks remotely realistic is the P&L one. Since when did changing an exhaust component give you a proportionate increase in torque across the range? (ignoring the remap tweaking in the torque dip).

I thought the P&L green line was pump gas too. Only difference was the red line was no tune and green line was Visconte pump base tune.

If you guys want to Paypal me some money for the dyno, I will go back and dyno my JDL UEL Header on pump gas.

I think it will look very similar, just a little less peak power compared to e85.

I'd chip in $5 towards that. I'd want to see all the data that goes with it though, including atmospherics, dyno settings etc.

No comparison really until you get them all on the same dyno, otherwise the variance in dyno readings could just as easily impact the results as the actual performance of the header.

Look at the scaling on the revworks dyno graph, for instance. The scale covers from 50-450 ft/lbs, of course a torque curve on that graph is going to look flatter than one on a graph scaled to cover 75-200 ft/lbs.

Ignore the darker line. That's with E85. The light line is on pump.

You got this one wrong. THe light colored lines are pump gas but they DO NOT include the header.

Also, the P&L Green line IS pump gas with visconti map.

So, my thought is...
"You bought the wrong one silly"

LOL, just messing with you....

Most of the headers do allow for dip removal with tuning. stock cam timing around the dip is not optimal with a header since it is setup to try and get around the limitation of the stock header.

Your plot look great btw where did they put the temp probe and what correction factory do they use?

And data logs from the car with a proper tuning tool like ecutek or brzedit, sample rate for the torque app is terrible.

What he said.

I do like the attempt to compare without E85 though since a lot of the dynos we are seeing are skewed by using E85, but most of us can't or won't use E85 for our cars.

Wait a few more months when there are more headers in the wild and pay attention to meets with dyno days. Those will best illustrate the comparisons. Nice power with the revworks though, pity you didn't get a baseline.

That nameless dyno shouldn't be there at all. It's not a product we can buy...let alone independently test at this time.

Good start for a header comparison. A few things to consider.
Each car is different, each dyno is different, conditions (temp, humidity, etc.) so all data must be normalized. A baseline run needs to be done which I don't see on the Revworks dyno, so the delta (in percent) cannot be calculated nor compared to the others. Consider adding notes such as UEL (typically uncatted) and EL (catted I'm assuming), which tunes they were running, and all known mods.
@Simmons I plan on getting a tune sometime, but with news of the furlough I'm not sure when that will happen now. Whenever it does happen thou, I'd be glad to share the graphs.
