So I am not a medical doctor, but I am somewhat informed.

We are headed towards more boosters and mandates unless we say no to such things.

Wanting to be left alone is in reference of wanting to be allowed to live my life.

I enjoy my job taking care of patients.

Atropine is a pessimistic libertarian. That sounds like a good name for a pub. "The Pessimistic Libertarian". They could force you to wear a mask while you eat.

I feel the boosters are an overabundance of caution and is that really a concern? Are there any negative side effects to more boosters? Probably not. I know people seem to keep linking boosters and masks with mandates and therefore government control, ect. That rabbit hole can get pretty deep.

Thus far the DoD has only required we have our vaccine where I work. There hasn't been a whisper about boosters being required. So I'm not worried in the slightest about that for now.

Geeezzuuzzz. The unsubstantiated speculation just digs the hole deeper and deeper. There will be no end to it. Perhaps the earth’s mantle will stop it. As I noted earlier, the primary tactic of the vaccine resistance is deception. They play an ongoing shell game - the catch is there is no pea.

There is also the ethical issue of when boosters are available to everyone in one country where other countries haven't been vaccinated the first or second time yet. There will need to be specific rationale to the administration of the boosters so that only those who most benefit receive them versus availability to everyone in a country.

I think it’s pretty cool that I can waltz in the local Band-Aide and get a booster. If the current administration is successful in ramping up vaccine production to meet global needs it’ll salve my conscience a bit. But I don’t expect anything to get through to the “resistance.” Being a member of that fraternity has become an end in itself. So much of their self image is tied up in that connection I doubt anything (short of a death bed conversion of the type we’ve seen any number of), if that, will get through to these characters.

NBA is talking about boosters for their definition of vaccinated now.

A Bachelor of Arts in biology huh? How ironic.

I don't really see the problem with boosters. If it stops all my team members from getting sick for weeks it's fine with me.

In living your life, you might encounter people who really wish you and everyone else would stop infecting them with life threatening diseases. They just want to be left alone too, but I guess your needs are more important right?

I understand the ‘leaves me and mine’ argument. I don’t fucking believe it though. The protesting and antagonizing parents and healthcare workers paint a different picture of respecting people’s space and decisions. I don’t believe that’s solely an antivaxx crowd who is separate from an anti mandate crowd.

3 different docs I work with.

1 is the head of the ER Group

all 3 are ER Docs...maybe they dont know.

1 of them thinks 90 day boosters is a good idea btw+mandate

2 think it would be ok if thats what is available (but don't like idea of mandate)

Different managers...there have been also polls within our system to gauge "would booster requirements be ok"

Right before the vaccine mandate there was a similar poll/census.

I say whisper...because none would really want to talk about it publicly.

If WBradley has been right about one thing...its that people who quesiton the vax are treated like pariahs.

I'd like to make a comment. Although vaccine mandates are not a desirable situation, if people want to continue to function in a society that isn't handicapped by an ever-present possibility of getting sick or worse, it is the lesser of the two evils.

If, on the other hand, you don't mind never eating out, going to movies or doing other things in the presence of larger numbers of people, knock yourselves out. But don't whine that the large majority of society value socializing and are willing to be slightly inconvenienced if it means being able to return to normalcy sooner.

What's a little 5G going to do to you anyway?
