Question Polaris RZR LED Fangs on FR-S?

Hey there forum gurus! [My first topic post!]

Has anyone ever seen these LED fangs put on the 86, or done it themselves?

https://www.amazon.com/SLK-Customs-A...5ARRWD8JZ2CGF6

Im thinkin about ordering a pair and slappin it on the front... I think it's look sick, and gives some extra cool DRL and flasher functionality.

The edging of the item almost matches the front of my 2013 FRS perfectly, as far as I can tell from the pictures, but I also dont know the exact dimensions... looking it up shows the shipping box's (11.38in x 7.32in x 2.8in), and not the actual product unfortunately.

I'm curious to know if I should even bother attempting to put them on, or how they should fit... what do you gurus think?

Hey!!!
I would love to see how these would look. I think they would be worth it although I haven’t seen these on a car personally it could be a good idea. Since it’s Amazon you could always just return them for your money back if you don’t like the look or if it’s too big

$100 is a pretty cheap entry fee compared to a lot of other mods...

Go for it

I did have that thought as well... just seems like a hassle to try haha. I'll definitely keep this post updated if I pull the trigger on it.

I do have to agree that they look good for the price. Guess it wouldn't be budget-breaking to give it a shot...

Hope to see more thoughts or if anyone else has seen this put on the 86s.

Even if they seem neat at night, I'm going to wager that you'll be parking face forward against walls during the day.

Why not try? Worst case you're out $100 bucks and a couple hours of your time

Actually, I'm WFH now so Im parked in front of my place. Doesnt hurt that the walls actually have windows so I get to look out at it all day long (and you know I do, who wouldnt!?) Hahahah

But I agree, it could be worth the time/money to try. I'm probably gonna order these soon. Just hoping someone out there had previous experience with em...

Right now I'm looking at getting some actual functional parts first- Intec LED fender garnish made for the FRS lol only $145! Thanks for the input fellas!

After a bit of consideration, and pondering the actual size of the unit - website gives off 11.42 x 7.48 x 2.76 inches. I did some at-home cardboard cut-out fun and came up with a unit to test myself. Obviously I'm no master creator, but for what it's worth - the Fangs won't work for the application I need them for. At least, it wouldn't be worth it to me for the heavy modification of the front bumper I'd need to do to make sure they stay put... Here's a pic of the very craftful mod :

upload image

Seems there's a bit too much extruding from either way I try to put it. I enjoy the fang, really. Sad I won't be making it work for what I want.

I'm not very handy with this kinda stuff, but I'd imagine someone down the line would be. I'd love to have anyone get these installed with the standard ~2013 FR-S front end and reply here with info, whether it's tomorrow or 5 years from now... hahaha

shove the 'tip' up under the painted portion of the bumper. no one really needs to know, and there should be enough space.

Unfortunately, I tried any which way I could that made sense, and sadly it just wouldnt be flush enough. Thanks for the 'tip' though! Haha

I'm forgoing this thought for now and gonna focus on getting my VLand headlights, Intec fender garnish, and smoked side markers. Then probably paint my calipers neon orange lol

Updates!

Okay, I bit the bullet and bought the Polaris Fang LEDs for the front bumper cover!

I caved cuz I won a contest at work and got $100 haha So why the hell not!?

Im gonna need to cut the front bumper cover on both sides to fit it, and might just take it to a body shop and ask a dude to do it for me lol

From my previous measurement attempts, my buddy gave a good idea to put them on the outside of the corners, rather than inside like I show i the pics above. They seem to fit better for their size, so cutting the face seems a bit more drastic but aethetically pleasing. I still wonder how they'll sit inside though, and if I'll need to mount some steel bars for them to rest on or whatever... gonna be a pain, but overall worth it knowing Im the only one with em hahha. Who knows, maybe I'll set a trend!

are you willing to cut the fangs? might be able to cut between led's to get them to fit better, but need to be aware of series/parallel circuits.

Indeed, I did have a thought to only have the clear plastic faces and LEDs. I havent gotten the parts in yet, so I'll look into it when I receive them next week. Most likely not gonna go that route since they are sealed and waterproof/resistant. I wouldnt want to cause any issues down the line for modding that.

If anything, as mentioned previously, I can always send them back if I dont think it'll work out, that way Im not really out anything but an idea and a few hours of time. Thanks for the idea of cutting into them!

It has been done, and I'm super stoked with the results!

+New VLand headlights
+Smoked sequential switchback side markers
+Switchback LED Fangs

Finishing the build tomorrow with the Intec LED fender garnishes, but it's all wired and working.

I'll spare y'all the super lengthy details and just mention that it was very easy to cut into the front bumper cover, using just a razer blade and scoring the same cut multiple times. I cut from the inside, and it also helps to warm the area up with a blow dryer/heat gun or put fire on the blade and make it a hot knife haha. The worst part was the fitment, as there is a wedge-type design to the Fangs and the area I placed them had a slope. Other than that, super happy with getting them on!

Feel free to hit me up with any questions or thoughts about it. Here's some pics of the install!

Lastly, a video of them in action... not sure how to embed it but uploaded it to my drive:

Woah that's pretty neat! I'd have to see it in person for sure. At least I won't have issues spotting you if you're in the South Austin area!
